Nice simple life back then. But the harsh truth is that life and culture change over time and people have to change with it for better or for worse.

am excited about the upcoming Miami card. Great card full of the next batch of stars.

It’s a very solid card top to bottom. But the main event is not a compelling high profile fight. Yes Volk is in it but he’s coming off 2 losses and most people think Ilia is the best 145 in the world.

315 is kind of meh.

There were like 4 mega fights expected for this year. Ank vs Pereira was one of them. The other 3 are Khamzat vs DDP, Ilia vs Islam, and Jones Aspinall. Merab vs Pantoja is gaining traction but it’s not on the same level.

I agree. Both fighters did basically nothing for the majority of the fight. Disappointing night.

Ank was close to end the fight end of R2, he was pressuring Pereira the whole fight, controlling him. A side from a few strikes landed in R5, Pereira didn’t do much. All that talk about Ank’s leg getting chew up, he took it pretty well and delivered some goods ones of his own.

When did the last time anyone see Pereira backpedaling like this?

MMA judging is by far the worst in any sport.

I think the perfect group of judges would be:
1. One human judge
2. One AI judge
3. Vewers live poll

Let AI do the judging. Marshall was -600 after 2 rounds.

Ank better finish Pereira with these judges.

It’s a good thing he didn’t play in the 80s or 90s or idiot TV experts would say he couldn’t do that in todays game because he’s too slow.

Ank fights mostly out of southpaw but he occasionally switches. If he is in southpaw, Alex would attack with his front leg on Ank's outside front kick. Pereira is not a back shin to front shin kicker like Jan.

Jones vs Aspinall would be the biggest HW fight in UFC. Casuals and Hardcores will all tune in. It’s such an obvious fight to make. Seems like the problem is that Jones is not playing ball. If I were Dana, I’d give him a timeline to meet or strip him. Him holding up the division has gone too long.

Ank talking smack at the prefight press conference. Alex looks more tense and serious than usual.

Yup. Pereira definitely has the power advantage but I’m willing to bet Ank’s got quicker hands.

Reporter asked Fiziev if this fight would lead someone to the hospital after. Dude said last time he was in the hospital he waited 4 hours, nothing happens, and he just wanted to go home.
Lebron also has over 5400 turnovers and counting. It would take MJ to play to 50 to get to that many.

Fiziev is a good replacement for Gaethje. I was looking forward to gaethje hooker but this still should be a good fight

Very close first fight. Fiziev won R1 and you could make a case for R2. Justin clearly won R3. If I scored it based on rounds, I would give it to Fiziev. If I scored it based on damage, Justin. I remember Fizviev speed was a bit much early in the fight. Then he got eye poked late 2nd or early 3rd. He is in his prime and Justin is coming back from that brutal beating and KO. But Rafael is coming back from an ACL.

Ankalaev is gonna be a very tough test for Poatan. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out

Ever since Pereira stepped foot into the UFC, I have put money on him in every fight. Actually, I was the one telling people to watch this guy before it got cool to be his fan. But this fight, I'm going to have to back Ankalaev.

It really doesn’t matter if Lebron plays like this at 43. His legacy is pretty much determined and our sports culture generally thinks MJ is the GOAT. You’re not going to convince anyone otherwise at this point posting about Lebron having a 26/8/8 night.
