i HATE AA and never fly them unless it's BR to DAL and then back to BR.
I lost a full day in Hawaii 2 years ago because they just up and cancelled the flight from BR to Dallas and so i missed the Dallas to Honolulu. No compensation and I had to absolutely fight to even get a refund.

got zoned in on Sedona since we just went, but another great option is Ocean Springs. We go 3-4 times a year. Great atmosphere, restaurants, bars, live music, etc...

Man, I would do an hour early. I have flown out of BTR a hundred times. That said, the last several times we get there about 30 minutes early and everyone else had the same thought. Lines to check bags and lines at TSA. It has almost burned us. ...
