Kevin Sumlin Confirms Firing Pool Boy While Talking With John Chavis.
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
Last week, it was reported that Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin fired his pool boy for tweeting about a phone conversation he saw the coach have about his next defensive coordinator. So did that really happen? Yep. Sumlin was on Mike & Mike on Wednesday morning and confirmed the firing and said he was actually on the phone with new A&M coordinator John Chavis at the time...

He also said the first two times he tried to get through to Chavis on the phone he couldn't but on the third try it was no problem.

What was th date if the firing? I'd like to know how long Chavis was around our program knowing he was leaving.

Good. You're there to clean the pool, not creep on the owners and tweet about it.

I was gonna say that it was a dick move by Sumlin, but then LSU2006 pointed out what a douche bag this guy looks like. Good call, Kevin.

Perhaps dip shite sumlin should take his confidential calls in his office or study and Not by the hired help working on the pool? This isnt about the pool boy who heard things he shouldnt have. its about dumb dumb not protecting his confidence with a job candidate. Chavis ought to remember that. Firing the pool boy didnt protect him from this info getting out.

Pool boy definitely deserved to be fired for that. You don't spread your employer's business.
