With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC this year, has the Iron Bowl taken a backseat as the conference's second best rivalry?

It's no longer really the SEC anyways.

Bama/UT says hello now that there's a good chance both teams will be fighting it out more evenly.

None of these mean anything to me, just another game. But they are important to those fanbases. That’s cool.

Their fans think it’s important. It’s been irrelevant for quite some time.

What kind of stupid question is this? Pfffft.

Vandy and Ole Miss is a more interesting rivalry than that Big-12 horse shite.

I turned on sec network Sunday night and it was nothing but a Texas suckfest (fittingly during pride month). I think Finebaum found his new school to suck up too. This whole thing doesn’t seem right and I’m finding it harder and harder each year to get excited about the upcoming season. Sad to see what CFB has become.

Don't worry. With Texas, it's a vicious cycle. Go .500 last year? "Watch out for Texas, they'll be tough to beat!" Have a good season last year? "Texas is in my top 3, no question!" Over and over. Texas has a football culture problem but even after decades of failing to meet pre-season expectations, they're still a media darling leading up to 2 or 3 games into the season. Just ride it out.

Chokelahoma has been that way as well. hell toss USC in also. no matter had bad a season they had, they are always highly touted the next year only to lose a game to a team that should be running out of the stadium.

Alabama vs. LSU, Alabama vs. Tenn and Alabama vs. Auburn are all better than Texas/OU. frick these newcomers. Get bent and know your role.

Alabama/LSU and Alabama/Tennessee don’t come near the Red River Rivalry. Not saying they aren’t heated rivalries but objectively not close.

The RRR hasn't determined anything in several years. Ergo, no one cares about it.

Those 2 may not come close when TX and OU were in their previous conference, but as an SEC rival, TX/OU is just the game being played that week in my opinion. It’ll still be big to fans of those 2 schools, but it’ll be a while before a majority of the SEC make it that way and it still won’t be at the top.

There’s no way a game that kicks off at 11am will ever get as intense as a similar game at 6-7pm.

I’ve been to UM-OSU at noon and you simply don’t end up with the same atmosphere even with similar stakes because the tension doesn’t have a chance to build all day and the crowd doesn’t get a chance to tailgate and drink meaning they don’t get nearly as loud.

There is a huge difference between a noon kick, a 330 kick and a 6pm kick and it’s apparent to anyone who has been to lots of big games.

No way. The Iron Bowl isn't the best rivalry in the SEC its the best in the country. It's one game where you can "literally" throw out the records.

Iron Bowl isn't top in the country. It probably is in your neck of the woods though.
