He is an Arkansas High school legend. It makes a lot of sense for both parties.

If Yella Wood, Lowder, and the other Auburn powers that be don’t appreciate Malzahn and what he’s done in Lee County, then yes Gus should shag arse and go on back home to Arkansas. I think Gus would do well at Arkansas and keep them very respectable yearly. I don’t understand professional employment contracts but it’d be funny if Arkansas could pay Gus like a hundred grand a year with the AU buyout paying the rest while Gus beats Auburn at Arkansas.

I like to see him at Florida St. He would do very well there.

That's not an "I'm not interested in going to Arkansas" response.

He would be better at Arkansas than Auburn. He is like Les at LSU. Half the place wants him gone.

All the Arkansas fans drop to their knee's crying uncontrollably. Spurned again by their prodigal son.

That’s the Obligatory ole “I’m not going to be the Arkansas coach” statement before the inevitable “l’m proud to be the Arkansas coach” speech. Notice, that was not a denial. He might love Auburn. He does love his players. The future is bright. But, he never said that he wasn’t interested.

Wheels are in motion. Look for announcement within 72 hours of Auburn’s last regular season game
