I don't want to start anything to negative but who is the worst QB in UGA history? My pick is Greg Talley 1989-1990 UGA QB.
1989 6 TDS and 9 INTS 92-174 for 1,330 yards
1990 4 TDS and 5 INTS 72-123 for 871 yards
He lead them to 6-6 record in 1989.
He lead them to 4-7 in 1990.
I remember watching this guy when I was young and his arm was very weak and had problems throwing the ball over 20 yards.

Joe Cox is the worst that I have seen/ hope to ever see. He would completely self destruct during any moment that was important throughout the course of the game. JTIII was bad but not nearly as terrible as Cox

I had no confidence when either of these two played. I'm just glad we didn't completely implode during the seasons that these two were at the helm.

I disagree whole heartedly. UGA was scoring 40 points a game with no running game and no offensive line to speak up, Willy was giving up 50 a game. I think Joe Cox was a badass.

Yep, Joe Cox had pretty good stats from what I remember but he played hurt most of his last season with a shoulder injury. If Murray had not broken his leg his Senior year of HS, he probably should have been playing as a Freshmen instead of Cox.

How can yall forget him single handedly gift wrapping the Kentucky game???

In his final game at Sanford Stadium, the Bulldogs had a 14-point half-time lead. However, Cox threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter. Along with a red-zone fumble (as Georgia was attempting to tie the game), these interceptions sealed a loss against Kentucky, Georgia's first home loss to the Wildcats since 1977. However, Cox was not asked to do much in the final regular season game against #7-ranked Georgia Tech. With Bulldog tailbacks Caleb King and Washaun Ealey combining for 349 rushing yards, Cox managed the game well, completing 8-of-14 passes for just 76 yards and a touchdown in Georgia's 30-24 victory.

Joe Cox was a decent qb. JTIII gets my vote.

Yeah and he also single-handedly won the Arkansas game. He gets a lot of shite for being the QB for a team that, overall, just wasn't very good. Not a great player but certainly undeserving of all the vitriol he gets.

I will agree somewhat. Statistically he is not as bad as some others(JTIII)but I will never forget that Kentucky game. It was only the third UGA game I had ever attended and by far the worst home game that I hope I will ever attend. His performance in that game was the most pathetic display of QB play vs a shite team that I have ever seen. (They finished 3-5 in SEC play beating only us Vandy and The Barn)
So yes, I guess you could say that my assessment is somewhat biased but hey at least JTIII could long snap

Joe Cox was a better college quarterback than Matthew Stafford.

Seems to me like there was a reason why the "Ginger Assassine" was only allowed to throw 14 passes the following game. King and Ealey were much more talented than people give them credit for. Yeah they were TPOS but those dudes could tote the tater when they weren't getting high as shite and pulled over for DUI's.

Gee wiz..anyone who says cox or Quincy has to be under the age of 27. You really think that in 100 years of football that our 2nd most recent qb is THE worst..ever? I'm on my phone so don't have the energy to type out how utterly retarded that is. There have been far, far worse qbs than Joe cox.

I am 23, I also stated that he is the worst that "I have seen". I know the OP said in history but I didn't feel like sifting through wikipedia to look at other shitty QB's

Cox led us back from a 13-0 fourth quarter hole to beat a bad Colorado team and had that career night in Fayetteville his senior year, so he had some good moments. He could have been a solid QB if he weren't such a turnover machine.
All in all, his senior season wasn't that successful but for a QB that started multiple games, he was far better than JT3.

Greg Talley had an average arm, but he was/is a smart feller and had a football mind. His numbers are due to our offensive philosophy being in a flux and passing during passing situations only. We had some really good players and horrible coaching... It wasn't on Greg...
