UGA Softball Update

Let's show some love to the softball team.
They're sitting at 9-0 on the season, ranked #8 in the country (and rising, they began the season ranked #14). They have outscored their opponents 98-5, including 7 shutouts (5 active).
The Dawgs are in California for the Mary Nutter Classic. They face:
Thursday:
LIU Brooklyn (4-6) at 9PM
Cal State Fullerton (8-2) at 11:30PM
Friday:
#11 UCLA (7-3) at 3:30PM
Saturday:
Northwestern (5-4) at 1PM
San Jose State (3-8) at 5:30PM
Hopefully the Dawgs can come out of the weekend with a 14-0 record

Of the teams the softball team has faced thus far, the records of opponents are:
Elon (x2): 4-6
Winthrop (x2): 3-7
Omaha: 4-6
Stetson: 8-4
Stephen F Austin: 3-7
Jacksonville St.: 5-5
UAB: 3-8
Overall, our opponents are 30-43. It's still early but the season looks pretty promising.
The Dawgs avoid having to play in the regular season #1 Florida, which should bode well for our tournament seeding.
Elon (x2): 4-6

I'm never worried about this team making a Regional or even a Super Regional. What always concerns me is what they fail to do when they get to that point. Fortunately Wilkinson and Hugo are going to go down as two of the best UGA has ever had so there's good reason to feel optimistic.

Softball earned two more wins last night out in California, beating LIU-B 10-2 in 5 and Cal State Fullerton 7-6.
UGA is 11-0 now,and they face UCLA today.

We took a 6-5 lead in the 3rd I believe and the wheel just fell off. Hopefully the girls bounce back today but getting run ruled as a top ten team doesn't bode well, especially against a team that had 3 or 4 losses already.
