I remem ber when we went to Stillwater in 2009 the ticket was $100 and that was insane. They've slowly been creeping up ever since and AU/UT/UT are the 3 biggest offenders every other year it seems, I believe last year the face value for AU was either $150 or $160.

Welp, the bar has been raised yet again. Face on bama and texas tickets is $206. Ole Miss seems to be the steal of the season at only a paltry $125.

I know that it's a tit for tat thing and schools charge what other schools charge in return. I'm 100% certain that next year when bama and texas come to AThens they'll be charged at least $206 if not slightly more. But I mean FFS where does it end? 10 years from now are we going to have $300 face value for a single away game ticket? How is this sustainable?

With $12M a year coaches, 80 "consultants" on staff, and multi-million dollar recruitment budgets, ticket prices will continue to go up as long as people are willing to pay.
I stopped buying season tickets several years ago. I went to 2 or 3 games and gave the rest away. go to 1 or 2 away games, but have friends or contacts that can get tickets for me. A former Alabama player I went to high school with always gives me 2 tickets when we play in Tuscaloosa, and told me last month that I will have tickets in September. If we ever host Bama in Athens I will get tickets for him.

This. A lot of us sit here and whine about all of the changes that are whittling away what made college football special, yet we keep buying tickets and watching games.

$400 Athens hotels with 2 night requirements.

Moving games offsite (not in season ticket package) and doubling ticket prices.

Crap game times.

I am getting closer to dropping my season tickets (21 years). Way cheaper to just buy the games I want.

I pick the best game on the schedule and pay a driver ~$900 to take me up and back for the day. Feels the same as staying over night in a sub par downtown hotel for roughly the same price.

I just paid 500 for Bama game for one ticket. That's all the way up top too. I don't even have hotel stay or flight yet lol.

We stopped buying season tickets after the 2019 season. For us, it's a 475 mile drive one way to a game in Athens. Then, there's all the other expenses, traffic, drunk young folks (and some older folks too). I've been a fan since Jan. 1968 and I will continue to be a fan. I just won't be shilling out thousands of dollars each season.

I usually go to 1 and at most 3 games a year. I usually try to go to homecoming and if we play Vanderbilt of Kentucky tickets where I can get tickets for under 100. prices tend to get around 400 on ticket broker sites for the premium home games. For the cupcake games tickets can be as low as 15. I'm not sure how hard it is to buy into season tickets but I think it's 500 minimum donation per seat. I just don't see the point.

I remember back in 2004 some family friends of ours paid a scalper $300 for tickets to the LSU game and we all thought that was the craziest shite we had ever seen. Seems quaint in hindsight.

Shoot, that's just to get on the waiting list, and guarantees you nothing.

oh wow. Yah, it's just not worth it to me any more. 2 home games a year is good for me and I like to go to away games. Lot of my buddies from school go to some of the premium road games every year and playoffs if we make it.

In my opinion, it's like boats/RV's/beach houses.

The exhorbitant rental/charter fees are still much cheaper than ownership for a fews days out of the year of enjoyment.

Buying a ticket to a marquee game in good seats might be $1000. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than owning that seat for the whole season.

I’m looking at tickets for the Bama game Sep 28 ar 630 pm for a birthday gift for my stepmom. Her and my dad are Bama fans so I’d need 3. Mid row up in the end zone is 2100 with fees. This is ludicrous

Just out of curiosity I checked the Texas game. Holy shite they’re out of control. 1100 per seat in the 3rd deck

I think it 100% depends on how often you plan to go, and if you like the routine. If you want to go to 5-6 home games a year and sit in the exact same seat each game, buying season tix makes sense. Probably not at the height of demand but it wasn't but a few years ago the minimum lifetime donation required to break into getting seats was only a couple thousand bucks.

If you don't care about either of those things, then you'd be out of your mind to donate.

I wouldn't even bother trying to go to that game F1 is the same weekend. Everything's going to be out of control from price point that weekend in Austin.

That was a small window. The “donation” amount annually has been the same for a while but tickets have increased.

Plus, major donors increase meaning you have to be $80k + to sniff away or good bowl tickets.

Trying to out donate folks in the Hartman fund is not the way to go if you want really good seats
