And they won't draft a single one of our players.

Eh, the noise has been too loud from both the media and fans(especially the former) this off-season for them not to. And you know Blank cares about that kind of shite because him and that entire organization has rabbit ears.

If Williams or Walker are there and they pass over them, the media and fans will burn Flowery Branch to the ground. Fans have had enough.

Blank needs to sell the team. He's clueless.

This has been the case for over a decade. What's different about this year?

Falcons are not drafting a UGA player in the early rounds. They never do and never will regardless of how good they are or how much they fit their needs.

Look at all of the insane young talent on the Eagles that just won a Super Bowl. They get it. ATL doesn’t. Also, it’s not all on Blank - he’s not a control freak. The GMs and scouts are there for a reason and they’ve been godawful.

One.

I'm thinking either Williams or Starks.

I think they're going to this time.

There is way too much heat from the media and fans for them to ignore it any longer. Especially after what Philly has done. If they do it again, heads are going to roll.

And also, supposedly Blank was there today. I have a feeling a mandate to draft a UGA player early is coming or has already been known by Blank IMO

Even the national media is calling them on it.

Blank cares about perception.

And the Falcons sending their entire front office to Athens tells you that they are keenly aware.

I'll never buy NFL Sunday ticket and I've grown to despise Blank's Falcons. Because I live in Georgia and don't use a VPN most of my NFC games are Falcons games. Losing interest in the NFL gives me time that I can devote to better things. I did enjoy watching the Eagles in the playoffs.

According to Rusty, who was at Pro Day, the Falcons had 22 reps there, including every position coach. The next closest was the Vikings at 5.

Blank told everyone to be there, I'm with Rusty on this one. I think they're taking one of our guys high. Blank's son was there FWIW. I believe he has given a mandate to take a UGA player or two in the first two rounds.

Like I've said, Blank hears all of this stuff. He is big on perception.

What is the actual deal with them? Are they GT fans and hate UGA to the point they won't draft us?

Everyone I know who's worked for him thinks his giant a-hole. As in you get fired if you make eye contact kind of a-hole. Stuff like that makes me smile watching his facial expressions change as the 28-3 collapse unfolded.

I’ve always wondered if some pro teams feel it’s a risk to take local players because of the distractions involved with being famous in your hometown.

For example, I think 20-something me really matured and set myself up for more success by moving away, even if only for a few years. I assume the same could apply to football players on a more drastic scale given the public nature of their profession.

lol he's been the owner for ~23 years. If he cared he would have done something long before now. I think if anything, what's happened is he saw all the press Philly got for winning the super bowl with a defense full of guys an hour down the road and maybe that's what finally got the wheels churning.

And I betcha anything that in completely and utterly typical ATL fashion, the falcons will do something like take arian smith in the 2nd round and then stick their chest out and say "see everyone!? We take UGA guys too! Are you happy now and please stop complaining??"

Taking a UGA player simply becuase they are local is stupid. What is even more stupid is passing on an elite UGA player at a massively important postiion of need to take 1) a non postiion of need, or 2) that same position but someone from Northwest South Dakota tech U instead trying to show how smart the front office is. I know Bijan has worked out great but passing over Jalen is almost unforgivebale. And that is just one out of about 50 examples that one could readily cite.
