From Alabama's perspective most of the rumors going around today have been that we pushed for TE JJ Pegues due to not feeling confident on Washington (allegedly).

This kinda throws a wrench into all that speculation.

The whole thing about signing early and keeping it a secret until an all-star game seems weird to me.

I almost think you have to not sign, or at least say you’re not going to.

Jermaine Burton on flip-watch per Radi on the radio this morning.

.97 composite receiver, top ten in country. Commit to LSU as of now..

Could be a huge pickup if we can close the deal.

Something about how he's been to Athens every weekend and we've been to his place every week recently, and that is a red flag for a flip. I don't follow like I used to, but chuck Dowdle asked him for a flip prediction this morning and radi answered without hesitation.

Washington and Ringo both weren’t going public until the all star games anyway. Actually benefits them to hold off on signing because 1. It can’t get leaked and 2. If any coaching changes occur post bowl games it keeps them free to change their minds.

I agree, but we had a kid do it last year. Marcus Banks, a DB out of Texas.

Wouldn't this be the case regardless if they signed or not? I thought exceptions were made for last minute changes in coaching staff?

I think Tyrique Stevenson also did, but he also said he wasn't signing. It turns out he did sign, iirc, but wanted it to stay under wraps.

Not usually in football. Generally you're stuck.

This. You can get out of it but you’d first have to file an appeal, etc which we all know is hit and miss with the NCAA. Better and more expedient route is to just not sign (remember Roquan never signed an NLI, just showed up and enrolled during the Summer)

We just offered some guy I have never heard of at ILB.

DJ Lundy is a big kid with great athleticism. He would be a nice pick up. Diamond in the rough type guy. Watched him play for 4 years in high school. Small South Georgia high school, so he may be a little overlooked.

According to the mods over at 247 on Washington and Ringo, they are wanting to make sure their day doesn't get ruined. Rusty said that a few players signed early last year and waited to announce, and it leaked out somehow ruining their surprise.

I am confident that Washington and Ringo are both Dawgs. Rumors even floating around that they might sign tomorrow and not announce it so nobody is looking to find out who they signed with.

Definitely smacks of a Thomas Davis type, multi sport athlete from a rural school. I’m all for bringing him on
