..... most athletes do better when pushed by angry, negative, coaches.
SC has the angriest trio in mUSChamp, Martin and Staley. But Saban can be angry. Coach K is an angry dude, he’ll go down one day on the court. Bob Knight May have been the angriest of all.
Who are some of the others? The Bear never struck me as angry once he got to Bama. He may have been angry at A&M?
Rupp could be a little bit angry I suppose. Pitrino maybe a little bit? Pat Summit .... she could get mighty angry from time to time. Loved that woman.

A new study finds that anger is actually more effective during halftime speeches than inspiration.
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business analyzed hundreds of halftime speeches and final scores from high school and college basketball games, and found that players seem to perform better after a harsh, more negative halftime speech from their coach. In fact, researchers discovered a significant relationship between the level of negativity a coach projects during a halftime speech and second-half scoring outcomes. The more negativity, the more the team outscored their opponents, that is at least up to a certain threshold point.
“That was even true if the team was already ahead at halftime,” lead researcher and Haas professor emeritus Barry Staw comments in a media release. “Rather than saying, ‘You’re doing great, keep it up,’ it’s better to say, ‘I don’t care if you’re up by 10 points, you can play better than this.’”

The only person to ever give any worth to the sport of women’s basketball.

Former UGA women's basketball coach, Andy Landers, could throw a fit on court like no other. Took his teams to 5 Final Fours, but no ring. Sounds almost like our football team right now. :(

Ed Orgeron once ripped his shirt off and threatened to fight the whole team.
And I’m pretty sure there’s a reporter in Oxford that still has nightmares about him.

Well yeah I'd be pissed too if I couldn't remember what I did just 5 minutes ago.

Yeah Bear had a temper. You should research Junction Boys. He once kicked a door off the hinges at Legion Field going into the locker room because some idiot locked him out. State Troopers runs in and ask who kicked the door down and Bear growls back at him "I did". The trooper looked at him and just said, "Ok, Coach"

Here is him handling a young reporter on his nerves.

Be that as it may be. Your coach may not be the angriest but it certainly shows in his facial expressions as much as anybody I have seen.

Coach Bryant wasn't "angry". He was, by today's standards, a brutally mean and tough man, but that's how folks were back then. John David Crow told me one time (1/2 serious and 1/2 kidding) that Coach Bryant was a "mean, mean man".

Rodney Garner has a well-earned reputation as a hard-arse. Produces pretty good defensive linemen, too.

Guess we need to let Grantham make half time speeches this year

Evidently he didn't appreciate her second-guessing him. Can't say I blame him for that. Dude was a real legend.

Grantham is just a worthless pussy.

Maybe that's why those politically correct West Coast pussies suck so bad these days.

Mullen could get pissed. But most of the time he was pretty relaxed.
Moorhead seems even more relaxed than Mullen.

What a fricking idiotic statement!
Everyone knows that girls basketball is not a sport...it is only a recreation.
