Similar story to the teams I was associated with....."Anyone that comes into this lane better have a deep voice and hair on their chest."

My father was a Kentucky Alum and my mother was a Western Kentucky Grad. I did keg stands for two years at Kentucky in the early 2000's. Ended up dropping out and finishing my bachelors at a small college in Indiana many years later
My only contribution to NIL is buying multiple bottles of Kentucky Club Blue bourbon for family members as gifts. Its surprisingly not bad.

When I was in elementary school (late 70's) my church would clean Tiger Stadium to raise money to construct a new church building. I would sometimes go with my parents during the week and just hang out in Tiger Stadium while they cleaned. They also worked during football games restocking restrooms. I would sometimes go with them but I always found a seat and watched the games.
That is how I became interested in LSU.
I remember lots of wine/liquor bottles lined up on the ledge in front of the student section after the games. How did they sneak those in or did LSU just not check back then?
Oh, and Governor Edwards always left his area in the press box area a gigantic mess. Slob.

Grew up in close proximity to Knoxville. My first job at 14 was selling cokes at Neyland Stadium.
3 of the assistant coaches on my High School football team lettered at UT in the 70s.
Father has BS in Engineering Physics from UT
Brother has BS in Electrical Engineering from UT
I have 2 Masters Degrees from UT
Wife has BS and MS from UT

Auburn 1980-something
U of Texas 1990-something and 2001.
Didn't really bother with being a fan of CFB growing up in AL - yes, I was an outlier - but being in the stands for one season of CPD's years was all it took.

I got my undergraduate degree from A&M in the 90s.
At the time, I was hoping to study at a few east coast universities for academic reasons but the recession of the early 90s hit our household pretty hard.
When the financial aid stuff did not bridge the gap, my Dad sat me down and said I needed to go to a State U. Back then admissions requirements were pretty flimsy. You automatically got into Texas, A&M, and pretty much everything else in Texas with a certain SAT score so I sat down and thought about Austin or College Station.
Pretty everyone I know went to Austin and it seemed kind of cliched and boring. A&M was on the rise in a big way and was considered at that point the academic equivalent to Austin both in rankings and general perception. That famous (in Texas at least) Texas Monthly cover declaring A&M the best public university in Texas hit the stands which impressed my parents mightily.
So off I went to College Station and had an amazing time. A lot has changed since then. Football got a lot worse, the student body continued to grow, and the number of big city kids on the campus has exploded.

I live in Alabama. I spent couple of decades as a sports writer (was a journalist for nearly 50) and during that time played it absolutely straight and nonpartisan when working because I had to cover both schools. When I left the business, I chose to become an Alabama fan basically because of a lot of my experiences covering both major schools in the state. I have Auburn friends … David Housel is one of the finest men to ever draw breath … but on the whole I was turned off by the whole “Auburn family” shtick because everything their fan base accuses Alabama of being, they’re the same if not worse. And they have delusions of grandeur as to what they can be. My second favorite school is Georgia because my paternal lineage is from the Athens area.

Born into it. Went there, season ticket holder for the past 10 years.

Class of 2013, but I was a fan long before I attended. There might be a bandwagon phenomenon elsewhere, but actually in the state of Alabama, you're pretty much born into your fandom.
I have no issue with fans who didn't attend- that is retarded

My Dad attended NDame for 2 years and my Mom attended Sam Houston State for 3 years. WWII brought them together and in 1960, when I was 9, our family moved to BR. We became LSU fans that first year and never looked back. I have two degrees from LSU and have been a fan since 1960.

Alumni. No way I would follow CFB if I wasn't. There are too many other well ran sports I would follow.

I watch them play sports, they make me happy/sad. It is pretty much a one way street.

From Columbia, grew up going to Richland One schools, and USC was the only school I applied to and got early acceptance. Graduated in 2010.
My dad also graduated from USC, so I grew up a Gamecock fan anyway. I was 12/13 when we won those back-to-back Outback Bowls. Was a fan prior but as a kid I had other priorities too. Still, I recall the old Jefferson Pilot Sports days and fondly remember us playing @ Kentucky when they still had the Hefty Lefty.

My parents took me tailgating and to games when I was little. So 0-11, 1-10 I was there...of course in my front yard we were undefeated...but alas that counts for nothing. I have always been a gamecock.
Went to school in 2010, fell in love with the heart of campus. Graduated twice, once with marketing, later with electrical engineering. I am too poor to donate money, and going to games just isn't as fun for me anymore, but I still tune into every game.
My dad went to Carolina in the 60's, stayed and got his masters so he could keep getting tickets to watch Frank McGuires squads. I grew up listening to all the good stories. For a program without a ton of wins, we have stories
