1. WVU/Cal Poly
8. Troy/Little Rock

4. Aub/Ole Miss
5. UNC/USC

Vs.

2. KU/OU
7. Bama/St John's

3. UGA/State
6. Tex/Ore

Bold: regional host in super regional
Underscore: Regional host upset

Oklahoma changed the calculus knocking off GaTech

Still 10 SEC teams alive going into Monday, so it’s possible to have 8 SEC teams in Omaha. The rest of the College Baseball world’s proverbial heads would explode.

idk 2023 was pretty unbalanced with wake forest and lsu on the same side. those were two of the best teams in the last 5 years of college baseball probably and they had to play each other to face a good florida team. florida has an easy road to the cws final though that year

death taxes sun rises in the East the only other absolutes in life -

there will not be 8 SEC in Omaha - it won't be permitted -

In 2022 Notre Dame and Stanford were the only non-SEC or future SEC members

An all SEC CWS is still alive too though

Bracket 2
15 KU v OU or 2 GT
7 Bama v 10 FSU or St John’s
6 UT v 11 UO
3 UGA v 14 MSU

Bracket 1
16 WVU or UK v Cal Poly
8 UF or Troy v Little Rock
5 UNC v 12 A&M or USC
4 AU or Milwaukee v Ole Miss or ASU

*10 of the 23 teams alive today are SEC

Cats play WVU tonight.... Need everyone on board. Our bullpen is abysmal... Whatever good mojo we can get helps.

If that starts happening on a regular basis, then college baseball just becomes an even more regional sport, like lacrosse. We need more West Coast teams in the mix.

One way of fixing that is for the NCAA to stop putting all of us into the same regional. But they do it to keep travel costs down. I get the reasoning why, just don't like seeing the same teams every year in the NCAAs. West coast teams are always knocking each other out because of it.

Seeing USC and UCSB both sent to Texas is a good thing for the tournament. We need more of this.

Yeah, idk, seems like it happens a lot. Last year, we woulda beat any team not named LSU... who just happened to be in our side of the bracket.

If Troy wins, they host a super regional. That's insane.

They should reseed teams prior to Omaha.

Yeah we've had 3 seeds host before but I don't think we've ever quite had a Super Host like them Troy Trojans would be if they can pull it off.

Yeah, OM was the 2 seed but Nebraska was very clearly the 3rd best team in their own regional. I wouldn't call it an upset. Maybe they should just stop giving Big 10 teams a regional.

Corn is historically futile at baseball...

In program history they have won 4 regionals ever. 3 by DVH in the early 00s before he took the Arkansas job and then one with his players in 2005.

Omaha history
2001 2-n-q #8 national seed
2002 2-n-q hosted super because #7 Wake Forest got punked out by Richmond
2005 1-n-2 #3 national seed

That's it that is their entire postseason baseball history is 1-6 in Omaha despite being 60 miles from the event.
