Martha Stewart gambled on stocks with inside info, and she went to prison for it.

Sorsby was doing the same thing. If it's not illegal, it should be.

Also, I bet he wasn't 21 years old, the minimum age to gamble in IL. Sounds crimey to me. Small crime, but a crime.

My point is comparing him to guys doing domestic violence and dui is apples and oranges.

The reason guys are suspended is not because gambling is awful in itself.

Well the 5 million or more he makes in the one year if eligible is more than 95% of this board will make in a lifetime so he has a chance to be set for life. That’s just a fact and the people on here commented 24/7 are proof that he will make more than them in a lifetime.

I'm not convinced he plays much, if at all this season, but if he does, he would have to have an insane year for an NFL team to take a gamble on him.

lol he's going to play this season and get a chance in the NFL you know, the league that has multiple ads for gambling during games

It’s the NFL, not the NBA. That shite won’t fly, they care.

You’re putting the pussy on a pedestal.

Why don't you do some research on the NFL's dealings with players who gamble?

Honestly the best thing he could have done was to give it up. Work hard as frick to rehabilitate and enter the supplemental draft and prove himself a better man for it.

Going all in has possibly tanked any future at all. I had sympathy for the kid before. frick all that now. I’m sure I’m not the only person who sees it this way either.

He will play and will get drafted. He will put out an apology before the draft and say he was young and got hooked on it.

A college aged kid doing this versus a grown man in the NFL is different.

Calvin Ridley was 26 or 27 years old too.

As shitty as this whole situation is, he will get a shot in the NFL. If/when he rightfully gets denied eligibility from college ball, some team will grab him in the supplemental draft (if deemed ineligible of course).

A college aged kid with absolutely zero remorse demanding he gets to play is no different than a grown man in the nfl with no remorse demanding he gets to play.

I whole heartedly think and hope you are wrong. I hope, you hope you are wrong as well.

Can you explain where there's a different set of rules for 18 year olds to legally follow than 27 year olds?

This is stupid. Stop acting like this guy is 11.

Since 2022, 11 NFL players have served 1 year suspensions for gambling on NFL games (not their own team's games), several even being suspended for gambling not on NFL games but doing so from their cell phones at their team's facility. Acting like the NFL doesn't care about gambling because they have gambling ads is a bad take.

Exactly. Sorsby was gambling as recently as at least January when he arrived at Texas tech and he's 22 years old. He knew what he was doing and knew it was a cardinal sin when he was doing it, otherwise he wouldn't have gone to the depths of sending his friends money and setting up an account in his mother's name to place bets

Sorsby will forever taint any game he plays in, any mistake will be seen as potential point shaving/throwing games. No GM will touch him due to the optics and backlash from fans after any loss

Yep. Can you imagine what the fans will be saying after a loss where he turned the ball over multiple times? And how would his teammates even be able to go all-in on trusting him?

Yes. Issue isnt even Sorsby anymore. He should be disqualified and Tech is letting it happen. As the adults Tech's administration which profit from the game need to
fix this.

Instead milquetoast losers dont realize how dangerous they're acting while simultaneously being cowards.

Listened to the President of TT giving his remarks on the Sorsby matter. He is fine with him playing. Therefore, why should I care as a Bama fan and non gambler?

Sorsby can bet all day long on Bama games like every other gambling addict. His betting won’t impact the game one bit.

If he was dumb enough to hurt Tech they will know and get rid of him.

As an alcoholic who’s been sober over 10 years now, I wish the kid gets help and straightens out his life.

Having the $5-6 million that I’ve read TT paid him to play, he certainly has plenty of fuel to propel his addiction

I pray for him and all those with debilitating addictions.

They do care about gambling and he'll have to prove himself to be incredible to not have that affect his draft capital. If had come out last year, at best he was a late day two early day three pick.
