At least you didn't alter it to put your school 1st (like some would).

You keep using that word, but I don’t think you know what it means

Okay. And? How many sidewalk fans from the Pete Carroll era still watch USC play football?

Please, fans don’t know loyalty until they’ve withstood years/decades of record setting numbers of losses in conference play and virtually no bright spots to hold on to.

Alabama fans don’t hold a candle to teams like Arkansas in this category.

Should be #1.

Alabama fans are loyal to winning. So are most of the rest. South Carolina fans are loyal to South Carolina.

I’d put Texas A&M #2. MSU and Ole Miss tied for #3.

Pretty spot on imo

I’ve always said our fanbase, fan for fan is one of the most loyal and passionate in college sports. The overwhelming majority of our big 3 season ticket holders live 2+ hours away and Starkville is very isolated, not a lot of hotels etc.

the fact we are able to pull 50-60k consistently for football, 7-10k for basketball and 12-15k for baseball is impressive when you factor in the size of our fanbase relative to our peers, the amount of travel required compared to our peers and our overall success (especially football). Every other SEC program is either in a major metro area or very close to one or more.

pretty much see all y’all original SEC members giving credit to South Carolina for undying loyalty. They have earned my respect!

Being a South Carolina fan is a Sisyphean task, with a dash of good old fashioned domestic abuse tossed in.

We know we'll never push the boulder over the hill, but half the time we get punched in the face for our efforts. And like clockwork, we start pushing all over again every August.

How do you define being loyal?

Is supporting a bad AD and a poor product loyal or stupid? I’m glad that my teams fanbase became un loyal for a 2 year period because nothing forces change like an empty stadium. And that’s what we got - change and now we won a lot of games with competent people running the program. Sure, we aren’t winning any Natties but most teams aren’t.

Sometimes the best and most loyal fans sacrifice their enjoyment for the better of the program. South Carolina fans would love to win I’m sure, but they do t show it by just going thru the motions every Saturday. All that tells their admin is that they are fine with a mid level product. I can guarantee if their first home game had only 20,000 show up that pressure would be put on to do something, Instead, they’ll pack the place, go 5-7 and rinse and repeat.

Bama, UGA, Ohio St fans aren’t loyal because they’ve never had to be loyal.

Hands down Mizzou fans! We go into every Season knowing this will happen numerous times....yet we still support our program.

The teams with the most misery are the only ones whose loyalty has been tested. State fans have been tested for years.

I mean if you want to talk "loyalty" id imagine Missouri, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, South Carolina have more loyal fans than Texas, Alabama, LSU, or Georgia. In fact it seems a lot of the Alabama fans became Georgia fans and are now Indiana fans.

I have to agree. When you are on top, especially for an extended period your fanbase gets bloated with some bandwagon types. It just happens. But those Carolina and Arkansas fans still showing up are the real deal. I've been there...went to every Ga-Fl game in the 90s. If you were there in Red and Black, you get it

Definitely not Mississippi State. Some of you have reversible jerseys with Rebel blue on the other side. Even the old guys flip back and forth, depending on how the wind blows.

Auburn people need to tell themselves that they're better fans because what else are they going to do, claim that their program is equally as successful?

I haven't seen Auburn fans disappearing during the Harsin/Freeze years. the stadium is packed and loud every game.

Am I lying about the fact that fan support was strong enough to justify expanding the stadium during that period?

bryant-denny was expanded so you could host the IB. It had nothing to do with "fan support".

I don't know about the DUMBEST...

But it does seem rather random...

Not sure I agree with LOLSU being that high.

They seem to let their opponents take over their stadiums

There doesn't seem to be any criteria as to how they came up with the list. I guess it is just some 'bama fans opinion.

I don’t think I’d put Texas fans that high. I think we’re loyal win winning and we expect to compete amongst the best in everything. We have the resources to do that, but dont do it consistently in football or basketball.

Y’all aggies seem to have established a pretty active rivalry with LSU.

But I have noticed that if LSU loses to aggy, they seem to cope by decreasing the importance of that losing game by pretending that aggy is not their actual rival.

Am I interpreting this behavior correctly?

I’m a Texas fan and I wouldn’t have us in the top 6 of this list. Most fans are as fickle as the wind.

No doubt, and that earns respect. We'll, that and using Sisyphean, and defining it, on tRant. Probably saved a ton of Googling.

Somehow Florida is on a 18 or 19 home game sellout streak during the worst coaching tenure since World War One. That has to count for something.

I watched that Netflix special about Urban Meyer coaching Florida to the 2006 and 2008 national championships, which was entertaining viewing. Plus my dad received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Florida. Y'all certainly have a good sports pedigree down there, and I'm sure y'all will have plenty of solid football in y'all's future...
