Tennessee is simply making a strong statement to the NCAA.

Doubt it! Who Tennessee has the 2nd most national titles in the SEC, 2nd highest win % all time in the SEC, and is a top 10 school in NCAA history. UT bring in as much money as anyone when it comes to athletics in the SEC. In 2022 and 2023 Tennessee led the SEC in attendance, and was like #5 in the country for attendance.
Oh by the way the SEC was founded in Knoxville.
