I would think NC State would be a good fit and maybe Virginia Tech and move Mizzou to the west.

No, the school is not in northern VA but they have a large alumni base in northern VA and would cover that local TV market.

I get the whole oh leave A&M out, but this set up would make Texas harder to recruit for you,

The SEC made the state of Texas more relevant, not the other way around.

Teams like LSU and Bama havent had trouble convincing recruits to go where the action is.

I don't think you can get one Oklahoma school without the other one. They wouldn't go for that

Oklahoma and Texas were the brands everyone wanted but Oklahoma was not leaving OSU, I'm guessing that was Oklahoma politicians using their clout

Same thing with UVA and Va Tech, they are married at the hip and the primary reason the ACC invited VA Tech

Expansion is ONLY about revenue. Adding both Oklahoma schools (they won't separate!) would end up with less revenue per school in the SEC.

What you need is two schools from two populous states (NOT Oklahoma). I know we could get NC State and thus an entry into every tv market in a top 10 most populous state. If we could pry VA Tech away from UVA, that would add a huge market because we would get the entire DC area market.

Put MIzzou in the SECW and add NC State and VT to SECE.

If playoff expansion happens, will there need to be a reason to expand the sec, or any conference for that matter?

I think this scenario would have a tough time splitting up ok state and Oklahoma as well as removing bc state from their in-state rivals

I’m not buying that entirely, we already got to supply OU, A&M, Texas, Tech, TCU, Baylor and to a lesser extent SMU

You think SEC stays relevant in Texas bc you add a small private school? I don’t even think the SEC has been able to pull top Dallas kids, which is a TCU/OU stronghold, we are all bunched up recruiting Houston kids

I'd rather contract and ship A&M and Missouri back to the Big 12.

If it was contract or expand sure, boot mizzou and Arky and move Auburn east.

West Division:
Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas AM, Arkansas, LSU, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Texas.

East Division: South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn.

LSU and and Vanderbilt probably hate this but who cares about either of them. I think maybe the teams ending up in the east in this scenario might like it idk.

not what i said at all.

I meant adding A&M helped A&M recruit better, not the rest of the SEC. LSU and Bama cherry picked what they wanted for years from Texas before the merger ever happened, and have continued to do so.

The SEC is the SEC without any Texas teams so saying that

just isnt true.
