How do you rank them?

1. Rose
2. Sugar
3. Orange
4. Fiesta
5. Cotton
6. Peach

I feel like the Cotton should be ahead of the Fiesta, but my views are skewed because I grew up in the BCS era.

I think Sugar has slight edge at top of the pecking order. Peach is a distant 6th in my opinion.

Sugar/Rose... close
Orange
Fiesta
Cotton

Peach

Agree with this guy

Although I will admit that I have NO clue when the Cotton was higher in the pecking order than the Fiesta until today. But I just like the name better.

I like the Cotton Bowl. But it lost some flavor when it left the actual Cotton Bowl. But I’m sure someone argued the same thing over the Sugar and Orange when they moved to new stadiums.

Pretty much this.
The peach being named just the Chick fil A bowl for awhile doesn't help with prestige

I think the peach bowl increased in prestige with their new stadium.

ETA: But probably will not be that prestigious to the SEC because the SEC championship is played there.

No other area in the country ranks the Sugar Bowl as high as us

Depends on the year. It's impossible to rank the "prestige" of these games anymore when sometimes they're the first round of the playoffs, sometimes they're the championship game, and sometimes they're part of the non-playoff NY6 bowls.

All these bowls have also had different levels of "prestige" throughout history. For instance, the Peach Bowl was a mid-level bowl, largely, until the advent of the playoffs. The Cotton Bowl was a major bowl for decades, then a mid-level bowl, and now a major bowl again. The Fiesta Bowl was not a major bowl until the 80s. The Bowls that have always been major bowls have been the Rose, Sugar, and Orange Bowls. The Rose was mostly always tied in with the Big10 and Pac10, so while it is arguably the most "prestigious" bowl, it wasn't necessarily that way every year as the 'best" bowl. And once you had the advent of the BCS, those bowl tie-ins could change year-to-year based on who was playing in the national title game.

The fiesta bowl is lower than the Peach Bowl to me and it should be to everybody else on this board. It has been around longer and has typically had an SEC tie-in until it was moved into the NY6 group. The Fiesta is the least interesting to me, and the one I would be least likely to travel to.

I agree with your rankings. I was at the Sugar Bowl in 2007 and the Rose Bowl last year. There is just something special about Pasadena, so that is #1 by a large margin.

Nope

The Rose is far and away first. I mean they have moved the playoff dates around from New Years day to accommodate the Rose Bowl

The "Grandaddy of them All" is by far the most prestigious bowl game

1. Orange/Rose/Sugar (these have ALWAYS been major bowls)
4. Cotton (not a major bowl from 1995-2013)
5. Fiesta (not a major bowl until the mid-80s)
6. Peach (not a major bowl until the 2014 season)

This feels correct. Cotton has more historical prestige but was squeezed out of the BCS big 4. Has restored some value. Peach is the new money here. Was a mid tier bowl for most of its existence.

Tiers break down like this for me:

Rose

Sugar/Orange

Fiesta/Cotton

Peach
