I was walking to Beard-Eaves Mausoleum to watch Barkley and Person play when I was a student there.
I have followed them through Sonny, Cliff, TJ Eagles, Lebo, and friggin Tony Barbee.
Let me enjoy having an actual icon coaching there now.

There's no bait here. He's 1000% right. It wasn't a shot at anyone. Stupid emotional decisions can hurt your team. He mentioned calling out his own players saying there's no need for extra curricular stuff. I love CBM as a player but he makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.

Yeah I went to almost every game when I was in school and Tony was the coach. It was pitiful but I’ve been watching my whole life. Still got my Cliff Dwellers shirt

We had to fire Avery, whether Auburn was good or sucked arse. That's because Avery sucked and was expensive.
Now, the real question should've been, would Bama have spent $2.5-3 million/year on Avery if Auburn and Tennessee sucked? We wanted a big splash hire after Anthony Grant was fired. Our big rivals had top coaches, and we didn't want to be a bottom feeder.
But around that time it's even Slive told all the schools to start using the football money rolling I'm and start investing in basketball. And when you look around the conference, everybody started spending more on their coaches, and invested in top facilities.
