We prefer laughing at your most humiliating loss (but, not of all time, of course) to Troy, 24-21, September 30, 2017. In.....Death Valley?? Guess who got crunked in that game.
Ewwwww, that was just 6 six years ago. You sure LSU is a Division 1 school????
Troy. Troy. TROY!!

Perhaps we'll have a chance to even things up this year, eh? :)

As I posted before, enjoy it while you can. It doesn’t last forever.

2003 with 2019 being a close 2nd.
Bulldog fans were barking before the game about how LSU got lucky to win the first meeting and then witnessed their team get hammered in a de facto "home" game 34-13 that should have been worse than the final score. Lol

The media always talked about what the Saints Super Bowl in 2009 meant for that region
Was LSU in 2005 and 2007 big deal for Louisiana in the same way? Don’t remember the media ever talking about that.
I know in 2005 they had a special helmet

This. It was amazing as a fan back then that we made the game, then to pull the upset to win the conference was just such a great feeling. Went on to win the Sugar Bowl and cap and epic season.

2001 was the only one I attended and also the only one we won as underdogs and was our first appearance since the SEC CG started.
So for many reasons that one.

2005 was a really special team. We played the entire season without a bye week and got to 11-1. Started with that big comeback against Arizona St in the desert, then inexplicably blowing a big lead to Tennessee the follwing week. That OT gane against Auburn, the OT game against Bama. It felt like a team of destiny until the SEC CG which was unfortunate to watch. But we did get to cap the season with that 40-3 beat down of Miami which broke their program for good.

2003 and 2019 are 1A and 1B for me. I was 8 in 2001, so I didn't grasp how much it meant to the program, but that put us back on the map for sure. Halftime of 2011 me and my buddies were like shite we're gonna lose

If I had to take a guess for them, honestly the chronological order you have isn't a bad guess
Yea there’s none like the first
That ‘01 game on that stage was what you wait your whole life for. Didn’t have natty implications for us but ruining Tennessee’s season was a nice cherry on top. 03 was special too because we had to win and beating the same team twice in a season is so hard especially a good uga team

Also, it'd be cool to play Florida or Kentucky for the SECCG. Tenner and Georgia are the only two teams we've played.

Absolutely. In 2005, about a 3rd of the team was from New Orleans, so these poor kids have family sleeping on their dorm room floors.
Rita hit a month after Katrina, so for a good 3 months, South Louisiana was powered by generators.
The loss to Tennessee was frustrating, but I kinda get it. They were gassed, cramping, and dehydrated.
You just can't play football 12 straight weeks with no bye.
That team was so good though. They could have competed with Texas or USC that year. BCS got it right, but a healthy LSU could have played in that game.
In 2007 Tulane and LSU played with special uniforms:
Both teams had pelicans on their shoulders.

2001 and 2003 were probably the sweetest because no one was picking us to win.

Honestly, 2001 because it was a shock coming out of the dark ages of the 90's. UT had recently won a title and dethroned UF that year as the top dog in the SEC and was prepping for the NC game at the rose bowl. The SECCG was just a formality, especially since they'd easily beaten LSU already that year. Then Rohan Davey went down in the first half and all hope was lost....
