Right on the money. Cheers for Coach Holtz (Holts)

Coach Holtz was a quote machine. His first season as a HC was at William & Mary and finished 3-7. When asked to sum up the season he replied "we have too many Mary's and not enough William's"

Kind of right, but apples to oranges. Remember JFK “ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country”. Well, that doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a generational thing. Obviously, it’s also the boomers’ fault for bad parenting. Everyone is very entitled. Kids these days want CEO pay with just a high school diploma.

He's essentially talking about American society nowadays. Football players are just part of it. This can be applied in all aspects of America at this point.

He is 100% correct, nailed it ! Not only in the football world, but society in general.

50 years ago the players weren't spoiled divas that think they are God's gift to this earth and that they are owed something. Players today aren't just satisfied with having the opportunity to get a free education, free housing, and free meals. Now schools have to offer them money for them to come play which angers me to no end, if it wasn't for the school you would have no value. The recruits act like they are doing the school they choose a favor by going there to play football, it used to be the other way around. We are giving the players too much power, the NIL and transfer portal has ruined college football!

100% spot on and it goes way beyond just sports.

I genuinely love that man.
That ESPN tried to play him against his two favorite coaching gigs in the Gator Bowl tells us all we need to know about ESPN scumbags.
Thankfully, friends stepped-in ... I hope Lou is around for awhile longer. Great man.

It's actually Gen X that were the parents of the worst generations (millennials and gen z). I guess some boomers had kids very late.

This
In about 1 generation you had a core group of Americans who survived
World War I
The Great Depression
World War II
They were tough survivors, not victims
They knew communities were more important than individuals
They wanted better for their kids and they indulged them
Their kids took up dope over smokes and booze
The 80's came along and "Greed is Good" flourished. This was the tipping point and it will get worse as the under 30 set has no clue how hard life can get and by now is too "enabled" to do what their electronics tell them than to think for themselves.
Pre 1980's only military and hookers has tattoos now everybody has tattoos and nobody wants to serve and our children dress like hookers.

Every older generation says this about the younger generation. Holtz is FOS. There are plenty of really great kids on every one of these teams.
