Is Bama better without over-the-hill Nick Saban?

I think so. Nick had been losing it the last few years and DeBoer is entering his prime. The Gumps are lucky because Saban could never be fired. I have UGA and Bama as 1 and 2 in the SEC this year.

Bama is better than Georgia and that's a fact, Jack!

LOL no, DeBoer is crap. While Saban ended his career with 6 straight years sans championship (and he’s never done that before), he was still better. DeBoer is a west coast pussy with only 4 years HC experience. He is in way over his head and they know it. That’s why they’re talking so much trash because they know the fall is going to be PAINFUL.
DeBoer will be gone in 2 years if the money train doesn’t stop in the mean time. Most of the boosters in Bama are also fair weather fans.

I think his success always came from his GM skills moreso than his coaching skills, not knocking the later, just what I think.
So yeah I think it does make them better as whatever system Saban had for team building is now obsolete.( minus points for nick being a little bitch about it)

What a stupid take! Is Bama better without the greatest college football coach In the history of the world as we know it? The answer is no. Bama is not better, now that the greatest coach in history retired. Not sure why this is a question.

Haha, I know this is a sports message board where reason and logic go out the window. I myself have posted dumb arse shite before. Your post ranks right up there.

Deleting this. TLDR. Bama really has no idea what they are getting in new coach

If you're going to make it your entire identity, at least keep it consistent.

Yes.
Saban retired for the reason he always said he would retire. He no longer felt like he had it in him to perform at the level and standards he required. Much of which has to do with what college football has become, but when your heart is no longer fully in it, then that's just the way it is, for whatever reason.
He's the GOAT because of what he did in his career, not because of where he is at in his career.
If he stayed, he would have likely done something similar to Bowden.
And really, that's just more of a reason why he is the GOAT. He handed the keys over when the team is stacked with talent and everything is going great. Not because he's being pushed out due to running the program down.
No idea how DeBoer will do, but he's being handed everything he needs to succeed and with renewed spirit should do pretty well. He's not going to match up with Saban in his prime, but he should at least be successful.

Dumb take? Even though you asked a question. He is the GOAT!

Nick was in a much more competitive situation than Bowden ever was, which is why Bowden chickened out on joining the sec. IMO, Nick’s biggest problem was hanging on to his best coordinators, people kept hiring them for head coaching jobs.
He did a great job of trying to adjust to the changing strategies and had the talent but coaching continuity wasn’t there and he had to deal with that pretty often toward the end of his career.
He was one of the best no doubt.
