I don't know if Ole Miss has a good basketball team or not, but

we sure don't look very good, even when we win. We can ugly up a game quicker than any team in the SEC. I've never kept up with Beard before Ole Miss hired him. Is this just the way his teams look? We have the kind of team where everybody we beat is just dumbfounded that they could lose to us lol...I totally get it. It seems like it's a miracle we're 5-3 in the SEC.

Beards teams focus on defense, committing turnovers, and taking care of the basketball
We had 4 total turnovers against Texas Wednesday.

We are well coached with less talent than most teams.

it's the hallmark of Beard's style, it may not look pretty all the time but it works
no reason Ole Miss can't have similar success that Texas Tech had and that included a Final Four run and almost natty

State and Ole Miss have the same problem. Both are great teams but not elite.
The SEC is elite this season. 5-3/4-4 at this point is pretty dang good. State is No. 14 in the polls and No. 16 in the NET and would be the 10 seed if the SEC Tournament started today.

This is a Beard style team for sure. I’m telling you now that they may have the best win in college basketball this year winning in Tuscaloosa by 10. I don’t know how the heck that happened but it did.
I think the schedule has been a little kind to OM on the front end (especially the first 3 games) but they get to shoot their shot with Auburn and Kentucky coming to Oxford in the next few days. Heck they may be favored in the UK game.

Splitting the next two would be a HUGE win...I see us play and it is just SO obvious that we are severely out-talented by everyone in the SEC. MSU's starting 5 would replace our entire starting 5. And to be fair, the lack of talent is also on Beard...

Right? Ole Miss is ranked No. 23 in the nation but is in the bottom half of the SEC.

State is the opposite we manage to look really good and still lose because every team we face shoots lights out on deep 3s

I may be in the minority here but I am really enjoying having both Mississippi teams good at the same time.

Yeah I’m cool with both schools doing well in basketball.
Can politely go to hell in the others though

10 seed? Every projection has State as 4/5 seed.

I think they are very good. Should be a fantastic game tomorrow.

Well, maybe we can keep it competitive and somehow, some way have a chance at the end. That’s about all I’m hoping for.
