quote:

Former CNN contributor Roland Martin is imploring recruits not to sign with Bruce Pearl's Auburn basketball program after the Tigers head coach made inflammatory remarks about democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

"To all Black ballplayers and their parents considering (Auburn men's basketball), this is the trash Bruce Pearl tweets," Martin tweeted. "There are many other SEC schools to consider. Choose accordingly."

He was only talking about her non-black half, so it's OK.

Kinda racist. The plantation mentality the democrats see as their due is worse than anything Trump has ever said.

Roland Martin

I used to put my Ranger in the water at his marina on Santee Cooper all the time.

When did he turn far left wackadoodle libtard and ..... wait, he's always been a Gamecock fan but he wouldn't do this to Auburn I wouldn't think.

Hate to break it you them but judging by the recruiting rankings over the past 20 or so years, players don't really give much of a shite about the political stances a coach or the the region. If that were the case, New York universities might field at least one college football team that has claimed a national title since 1959

Being a fair and balanced person, I would have to know what Bruce said to respond to this.

It doesn't. CNN's political operation left Atlanta a decade ago, and CNN effectively moved it's headquarters to New York in 2019. CNN Center doesn't exist anymore.

Bill Dance nor Roland Martin could bait Orlando Wilson's hook.

Most might not like what he’s saying but it’s absurd to think Pearl shoving his political beliefs down everyone’s throat on Twitter/X doesn’t have some sort of negative impact on the program.

A very important note about Martin: he leaked CNN town hall questions to former DNC Chair Donna Brazile to help out then-democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. This is purely political, but Martin took cheap shots below the belt making it personal and implying abhorrent things about Pearl.

100%. Michael Jordan was asked one time to make his political beliefs (D) known, his response.... " Republicans buy shoes too."

Everyone is entitled to and has the right to express their opinion. But they need to be prepared to face the consequences of this opinion.

Its a form of Capitalism.

Pearl is entitled to his views but that doesn’t mean everyone is going to like them. Most players at the collegiate level have no politics so I doubt that there’s much consequence to any of it. Politics that you’re willing to fight over or have actual convictions about start for most people once they’re in college. Before that point most just mimic their peers or parents if they have any views at all. There’s a few exceptions but not a ton.

I didn't see the tweets and could have told you Pearl was supporting the most pro-Zionist candidate.
