I'm not so sure it's 1:1 the same.
Perhaps its because the TTU case becomes a morality thing with the biggest DO NOT transgression in all of sports, whether compromising the integrity of the game or at least adjacent.
The Alabama thing is technicality BS, while stupid, you see other schools doing the same thing.
I don't think any other school is going to entertain what TTU is doing here and will cut anyone who messes around like Sorsby

I was a big fan of JD Picknell of On3 until I say his take regarding Sorsby. He’s excited as a fan to see him play and literally said I’d be shocked if he hasn’t learned his lesson… lol what a joke
