Ticket prices to CFB playoff games are cheaper than regular season ticket prices (face value). With the exception of the Rose Bowl, the shittiest stadium in CFB by the way, a family of 4 can see the Peach, Sugar and Fiesta bowls for less than $175 all in. You can’t go to a mid week Braves game for that kind of money. Lower level seats at midfield in all three games under $300 and lots of them available. Rose Bowl tickets are about 1/3 of what they normally are but still around $300 in the upper sections. This is on the secondary market of course but it’s indicative of a SERIOUS lack of interest in attending games at neutral sites…..it’s too much for most fans, especially knowing their team may have 2 more away games to go.

Yep, and it all follows right after Christmas which depletes a lot of wallets.

It is a made for TV show. They'll put up those Covid cardboard cutouts if they have to.

It's all an ESPN tv entertainment cash grab so they don't care. The fans are not needed or necessarily wanted anymore.

This actually surprises me a little bit. I thought UGA/ND would be a hot ticket

Travel fatigue is real and it's affecting some of my crew as well. UGa fans have traveled to a bunch of players so far this year. We have a trip to new orelans followed by another to miami before ultimatley the title game. With the title being in Atlanta, I can definitely see a ton of UGA fans taking a break on these next 2 and then dominating the stands in the championship.

This. Expecting fanbases to potentially fly around the country for an entire month if they go to the national champ game is retarded and gay. Which is why they dont expect that. Just like they never cared about "muh players health." It was all just a way to make more tv revenue. Which many of us called way ahead of time.

All mega cities have good areas and crappy areas.

Maybe you can convince someone in Alabama to build a dome in a lovely city like Montgomery or Birmingham.

Asses in the seats haven’t funded this stuff for a long time.

I’ve had sugar bowl tickets for a few years and glad I unloaded mine when I did. A little surprised also, but but between footing the bill for the team payrolls and the extra games a bit understandable, although I though ND would drive up the demand particularly coming off a home game in round 1.

Tickets are sold out initially to almost everything….getting them sold on secondary market is getting tough. It’s not the same game with fewer fans in the stands though. It’s problematic for the game….there needs to be asses in the seats are it’s just not as good.

Pasadena is beautiful, New Orleans can be seedy but at least it has a culture and identity and the sugar bowl has so much tradition and connection to the sec, I'm not personally a fan of the South Beach scene but Miami has great weather and beaches.

I say this as a four decade resident of metro Atlanta, Atlanta is a terrible tourist city and not a place I can understand anyone wanting to visit for any reason. Mercedes Benz is a stadium for queers who are into fancy lounges and aesthetics over football or whatever sport is being played there.

Why? That might be even worse than Atlanta.
