Can We Ban Players Wearing Shorts?

Seeing more and more "pants" coming way up above the knee. It looks bad. Need to adopt NFL uniform rules which are as follows:
Pants
Other than the pants should be pulled over the knees, no player may alter or cut it. The pant leg must be pulled down below the knee.
Stocking
Stockings should be white, especially the visible part that is from the top part of the shoe down to the mid-calf. Then, from the mid-calf to the pant leg’s bottom, it should be the approved team colour.

I don’t think many people are very concerned about this, but we all have our pet peeves I guess.

I don’t really care about the look, and I realize knee pads are not much of a thing anymore, but all I can see is shattered patellas waiting to happen.

What does it matter? If you've ever played football you know there isn't a kneepad in the world that will prevent an injury, at best it simply protects from bruising to the front of your knee. In other words, anything that will help prevent a knee injury will also restrict movement much like the braces worn by O-line.
If players choose to forego the kneepad and cut their pants a bit shorter, so be it.

There were a lot of GT players and Fl St guys with short pants today. Maybe it’s an ACC thing. Can’t imagine it was that hot in Ireland.

I don't think the NFL even enforces this rule anymore. Most players' knees aren't covered, and most players wear tights as their "socks" instead of actual long stockings.
