I originally did not like the idea of Pods/Divisions because it forces some unnecessary permanent games, but this random scheduling has created massive scheduling disparities and the potential need for convoluted tiebreakers.

UGA has played 3 road games against playoff teams and will play another playoff team next weekend. Meanwhile, Texas has played only 1 team that will be the in the next top 25. Texas’s current strength of schedule is worse than BYU’s.

Similarly, UT has only played one opponent that is currently bowl eligible.

Divisions could be unbalanced, but at least you were competing against teams with similar schedules in your division.

9 game conference schedule and pods solves a lot

I think this logjam at the top will be used as justification by the conference to move to a 9 game schedule

this 2 year bridge scheduling returned the SEC back to the pre-1992 expansion where random schedules with uneven amount of SEC games were what determined the SEC champion - it's a joke - in 2024 -

Texas plays 2 SEC games outside of TX - already played in Nashville - travel to Fayetteville -

compare that to Oklahoma's SEC schedule as far as first-year membership

I hope you are right about this. Definitely need at least 9 with the size of the league.

Part of the reason it is unbalanced between Texas/OU is because Texas was the “road team” in that matchup this year.

Texas will feel the other end of that next year in only having 3 conference home games and 4 road (+1 neutral) The 8 game schedule really sucks for teams that play the neutral site games

Nine games + a balanced three permanent rivals system solves most of these issues.

I’d personally rather have 10 conference games to keep home/away balanced, but doubt that’ll happen.

Aww would you look at that? A Bama fan wanting divisions back because they beat LSU and want an easier path to Atlanta.

Win the games on your schedule and you won’t have to worry about being 5th in the SEC. Also the best teams are not always playing in Atlanta when you have divisions.

For example 2022:
Tennessee beat the top 2 teams from the west that year. Tennessee was also the 2nd best team in the SEC behind UGA and so happens the top 2 teams were in the East that year. So since they’re where divisions, LSU gets the nod instead of Tennessee and gets blown out by UGA. LSU would have been the 3rd team in the SEC that year had it been like it is now.

So my words to you, is cry some more and deal with it. Sorry you can’t have an unfair advantage anymore playing is weak west.

Getting rid of division is the only thing that's been a positive in recent changes.

There is no issue, you're just a fricking dumbass.

But go ahead, add more losses to the conference so we can get less teams in the playoffs.

9 games = more conference losses = less teams ranked = less teams in the playoff = makes the conference look weak.

10 games is even worse. An SEC team might not ever win another NC.

You stupid fricks need to learn some basic math before telling the world about your "great ideas".

Indiana is currently in the top10. Because they are this extremely good team?

Or is it because they've played the 103rd toughest schedule?

The lowest SEC schedule is like 43rd and that's Ole Miss, with Tennnessee at 41, and Texas at #40.

That's not including the games yesterday.

And you fricks think the SEC needs an even tougher schedule?

Just how retarded are you all? Have any of you actually watched college football for longer than a few years?

Fox is cutting a deal that will change college football forever.

Next you 25-30 will play for the Natty and the others will not even be given a chance to make playoffs. It will be a super conference of the elite and everyone else will be left by the wayside.

College football is over if they pull this off. Those 25-40 teams will be more of a semi pro league for the NFL.

Just get rid of the CCG. It’s fun and all but unnecessary.

This is an AP voter. This is how these stupid fricks vote.

#4 BYU #72 SoS
#5 Indiana #103 SoS

Indiana has only .20 expected losses for an elite team. The average SEC team has played a schedule 5 and 6 times more difficult with numbers like 1.30 etc.

2 teams that have good records because of SoS. Because these voters aren't smart enough to apply SoS. They look at record before anything else.

And you stupid fricks think the SEC needs even more losses? Yeah, you're all retarded and you should feel bad about it.
