Nope, and it sure as hell ain't happening this year either.

Serious question.
How is someone already "developing really well" a couple of weeks into spring practice?
This is an every spring thing

Not at Alabama it isn’t. The last time we heard this much good about a true freshman quarterback was when Bryce Young arrived, though I am not saying Russell will be as good as Bryce Young. In fact, odds are he won’t be.
Edit to note that Young developed his first year behind another senior starter. Mac Young was the starter for only 1 year.

It just seems there is always back-up Qb chatter. There hasn't even been a scrimmage yet. But I can see where Russell deserves the hype.

Ty Simpson would not start at Tupelo high school.

So, which of these will win the prize of getting slung around like a rag doll by SEC defensive lines?

He looks like Daniels, may not play like him but looks the part from what I saw at practice. Mack had a bad practice but it’s just practice. Simpson is the clear #1 at the moment. There is no controversy.

I have zero doubt the kid is talented. I've watched his recruiting videos and seen several tapes of his HS games. He is more than talented enough to be a star. But as we all know, physical talent doesn't automatically translate into a great player when they get on the field. I'm cautiously excited for him but also know it will be very hard to unseat a four year QB in Simpson who is more mature, seen more college football and has just "been around" longer. It's hard to unseat that type of player, especially when that player is very talented as well. Good luck to all the QB's.

Keelon Russell looks like Jayden Daniels early on
That is an easy decision if true.

You mean like when Alabama beat UGA last year?

Alabama hired a jelly of the month club coach who won't last in the SEC. Their fans will soon tire of it and run him out of town.

He's beaten Auburn once on the field and twice in recruiting so far.

He'll have his chance to prove himself one way or the other. But if he doesn't get it done within three years he'll be gone. You can bank on it. But he'll be given three years.

Brody Smoot on social media lying, the kid didn't look like JD5 at Duncanville, so we are to believe that he has transformed into a Heisman Trophy winning QB in 3 months......MOFO PLEASE

Lacy is a Bryce Young starter kit.
Russell is a Jaydon Daniels starter kit.
They are in that mold, its extremely premature to say those two are at that level yet. QB projections are really tough and the bust rate is high.

Both have the potential to be great college QB's.
Agreed.

but a big part of that is Russell's running ability
Well he has that capability, but he only had 300 yards rushing as a senior against 4200 yards passing so I'd hardly say its the focus of his game.

Sark doesn't like to run his QB.
He's the one who helped bring Milroe at Bama so while I agree that's not a focus for him he's shown he's not afraid to bring those guys in if there isn't a pro style alternative he thinks is worth the offer.

How many current SEC coaches were hired with a CFP berth on their resume at the time?
How many had a P4 conference championship on their resume at the time?
The answer is one: Kalen DeBoer.
Who knows if DeBoer will pan out, the SEC is really tough. But as far as resumes go, Bama had the best hire on paper of anyone who has come into the conference in years.

It is the offseason and little information is coming out of Alabama's camp, so you've got internet hacks writing articles that are rooted in pure blind speculation. Then you have naive fans reading those articles and taking them as if the information came directly from the coaches' mouths. The wonderful offseason, where everything you read is true!!!

Simpson is the clear cut starting QB, but their back up looks just like Jayden Daniels out there. Have we ever seen a teams QBs go 1 and 2 in the Heisman race?
Heck, dude, just wait. I bet by the end of the week, all your players will be Heisman candidates.
