That's kinda cool but Bama would never do it. I think they along with us and Pedo State are the last of the traditional uniforms only teams. The closest we ever get are throwbacks from time to time, but it's pretty subtle.
Edit- not sure USC (left coast version) has ever done real alternate uni's either.

We had a houndstooth neck trim one year. Most wild thing i can remember since white helmets.

My Mom had a couch with that pattern in the fancy living room back in the ‘70s.
