Alabama fans are being too emotional

If we look at this thing in a calculated fashion, there is no justification for Alabama being in the playoffs.
Something like the Taxslayer Bowl is the obvious post season destination for them.

Partially agree. Bama shouldn’t be in playoffs as a singular statement. They should be in whatever your getting into over SMU though

There are a lot of inconsistencies in the rankings. You don't see me crying about UT not hosting Ohio State. It is what it is.
Alabama is out, and no amount of emotional screaming at the sky is going to change that.

You should all be ashamed for pushing a team that has lost to every single good team it's played, has 0 ranked wins and a SoS ranked in the 80's because they lost to a team ranked #17 with 0 ranked wins by a FG.
The ACC conference champion lost to both SEC teams it played.
If you want to see teams rewarded for playing shitty schedules with 1 or 2 good teams and losing, then you will get what you deserve when it's your team getting left out next year.
While Alabama would be the one most noticeable getting the screw job being first one out, the reality is SMU should also be ranked behind Ole Miss and USC. They should be ranked down by BYU.
The fact we are even arguing about this kind of shite just highlights what a terrible format it is and how badly they are fricking over the sport for a few extra TV dollars. It should just be Oregon vs Georgia.

Not really, if it were Auburn in this position, id root for them to get in. But im using logic over emotion.
If you really want SMU in, that means you are rooting for boring OOC schedules.

That’s just it - they have no shame. No one on here is arguing that SMU is a better team. It’s just blind bama hatred, just like we see from the media all year long.

Alabama is out, and no amount of emotional screaming at the sky is going to change that.
And next year it'll be some other SEC team that played a much tougher schedule getting left out.
If Alabama doesn't get in while having much better wins and a much better SoS, what chance do you think anyone else has?

This is what everyone is overlooking in their bloodlust. As a Bama fan, id rather them be snubbed for South Carolina or Ole Miss...teams that actually did something noticeable besides beat cupcakes

I thought that was understood, it's just part of having a playoff structure like this.

I largely gave up on Alabama making the playoffs when they lost to Oklahoma. I’d be happy to see them get in, but it is what it is if they don’t. Hopefully young guys get some decent experience in the bowl game and then we’ll move on to next season.

The difference is when it happens to someone else, we all know that Bama fans will be arguing for what is right, because we know their character. All we are seeing tonight is the jealousy from the MSU/LSU’s of the conference.

You'll get fricked harder than Alabama ever will. Look at USC and South Carolina right now if you want a preview.
Meanwhile most of you will be crying about SoS and teams not having played anyone all year.

It's like you just woke up and realized how the CFP works.

Sport is dying, that's why they are doing all this crap trying to drum up interest and drama.
This isn't going to help it.

CFB is generating more money than it ever has.

They did all this because viewership was declining and people were saying the bowl games were meaningless.
ESPN is/was bleeding money, had to fire tons of people over the past few years.
Teams have long been taking losses on the bowl games they get assigned to because nobody will buy the tickets, but they want the practice time.
And you've got pushes by some to consolidate things into super conferences so they can cut a large majority of the teams out.

This is the most entertaining season of college football I’ve ever witnessed. Y’all lost to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. Don’t do that and you’d be in. Simple as that
