Because they’d have to join a cult.

Since the 2013 season, Mizzou has been on CBS 16 times in the regular season. Here are those viewership #s (in millions):

7.0- at UGA 2023
4.4- vs Arkansas 2014
4.1- at Arkansas 2023
3.6- vs Tennessee 2023
3.3- vs Arkansas 2023
3.0- at Tennessee 2022
3.0- at Arkansas 2021
3.0- vs Georgia 2014
2.5- at Tennessee 2016
2.5- vs Arkansas 2016
2.4- at Arkansas 2015
2.3- vs Florida 2019
2.1- at Arkansas 2019
2.0- at Tennessee 2018
1.9- vs Arkansas 2018

Those are horrendous viewership numbers for SEC on CBS. The average SEC on CBS regular season broadcast during the past 11 seasons was just over 5.6 million, meaning just one time in Missouri’s 16 regular season appearances did they exceed average viewership.

Didn't aggies have almost all 11:00 games last season? That also effects tv viewership numbers.

Aggies had six 11 AM kickoffs. Oklahoma had seven. OU made this list.

You would think that if 11 AM kickoffs were an issue that Oklahoma wouldn't have made it either being a Big XII team from a small state.

Probably because the state of Oklahoma doesn’t have any pro teams for fans to support. That really helps OU. Plus, you’re only 1 of 2 big schools in the state. That helps for sure. Lots of t-shirt fans in Okalahoma and probably an equal amount of OU t-shirt fans in Dallas and North Texas areas from what I’ve seen from living in this area.

I am surprised Alabama is on this list considering half the state doesn't have electricity yet.

They wouldn't if it weren't for a company based in Georgia; The Southern Company, aka Alabama Power and Light.

Liberty has more fans than you realize. I know several die hard fundies in Georgia that have released all loyalty to the Dawgs for Liberty. Several send them a nice big fat check a couple of times a year. Also, they have a damn nice stadium that is packed out for every game and there are plans in the works to increase the capacity. These folks are good at raising funds. Always have been.

It’s not as if every game is equally offered on TV and the audience has full choice to yield these numbers. This is a product of TV scheduling and which teams have good seasons.

It’s basically a list of which schools were in the hunt with good seasons from 2016-2023. Bama is way out front because they’re in the hunt every year.

Surprises me that Ohio State isn't #1 because they are on national TV it seems every week, and have by far the largest alumni base in the country.

There is a large amount of people who don't really care for college football, they only watch the NFL.

This is true. Many of these imbeciles seem to think the players for their favorite NFL team are produced by the football fairy or something. They only get interested in college players when the early draft projections start dropping, but still don't watch CFB games much beyond the odd playoff or NCG.
