No excuse for this. None.

I can’t stomach losing to Missouri.
I am off the Venables bandwagon. I was a big fan, but this is totally unacceptable.

Problem is we can’t fire BV this year. We play the exact same schedule next year. All but one of our games was winnable, and thats with subpar OC, QB, WR injuries and a young oft injured Oline.
We still have great players coming in. But need go nail the OC, and he can turn it around fast. D is good so just need better O play and we’re in the mix.
Fire BV and we lose many recruits who love his culture. And we can’t afford to change coaches with same schedule.
After next year all bets are off. We at least know JJF isn’t it. He shoulda ran that last series when tied. Had 2 timeouts. X was running great. Kicker made a 56 yarder. Did not need too many yards. Just run amd if don’t make it then go to OT.

Hopefully a good OC makes the difference and the new OC brings some OL guys and a QB. I was hoping we would see Hawkins in the second half after scoring only 9 points in the first half but it never happened.

Lmao sure let’s do that and go on a 6-6 carousel for the next decade. Any other brilliant ideas?
Good life tip: keep your emotion out of it and let a proven administration grow around a very proven coach.
Or we can go with your plan and be Texas 2010-2022 and suck and fire two more people. Again, brilliant!

Why Hawkins? To see him look like a lost 18 year old? Thought we established last month he wasn’t cut out for this stage?

Just to change it up and see what he could do. I'm not sure he could have done any worse.

I actually don’t want to fire BV. Everyone else is expendable. We don't want to do the 3 years and fire thingy with HC. Get a OC.
I do think we lose some D players but have some young ones too. They would be better with complimentary football.

We had 2 timeouts and 1:03 on clock at 30. We needed 30-35 yards to have a chance to kick a FG (he made a 56 yarder).
There was no reason to risk passing with your rookie qb who has had fumble problems. They were playing just a bit softer in back so if we break the line running there are chunks of potential yards to be had.
The whole gameplan was flawed all night long. I was screaming to run the ball all game long in the gamethread, but we kept on passing yet never threw a pass past 10 yards to our top 2 WRs who were back. We did a jet sweep to the TE, its as if Seth was in the OC booth with dirt on JFF.
This also goes on Brent. He has to be aware enough to tell OC to run more. And he didn’t.

This is telling. Why didn’t our 2 game active wrs get any targets? We went pass happy but not to the right players. This is likely JA playing scared.

How do you bring in any reputable OC knowing that your HC is coaching one season for his job?

This is gonna sound crazy, but I have y'all beating Alabama. Night game in Norman.

Throw enough money at them I guess.

If they want to keep Brent OU should throw all expense this year towards an OC support coaches and NIL. Seems like we were late to the NIL game in the past up till this last year.
Get the offense fixed I think Brent will be fine. Defense is better than it's been in years and should only get better once we are rid of Washington and Walker.
People keep mentioning Curt Cignetti as a head coaching alternative if they let Brent go. Curt was 11-2 his last year at JMU and I saw where he brought anywhere from 9-12 transfers from JMU with him to Indiana. He looked like he was successful his time at JMU. Would he be a good hire at OU? I hope we dont find out and Brent gets OU off high center.

With the injuries this year we have to give BV another year. D has been good but its hard to tell just how good because we lack any semblance of offense. Imagine if our O was just avg how much more rested D is not having to do all the work. Its never 50/50 but right now its 10/90 and the D can only do so much.

This is good to see. Our OLine isn’t that bad now our QBs are. Have to make better and faster reads. OC needs to throw past 10 yard sticks. And run the ball more

This is actually what should happen. Joe C and everyone who was connected to the Stoops era! If we ever want to have a legit chance at a natty we need to get rid of that “better than most” mentality, morally superior attitude, and that “diamond in the rough” mentality! NIL is the way! Either pay top dollar for the recruits and staff that are needed to win or let us fans know that we need to get used to being a “has been.” If that’s the case then I’ll take up gardening on Saturdays.

Good perspective here. Get us an OC and we’ll be really good next year
