Lived in Fort Worth for a short while(2010 loved it there). Lived in Amarillo for 2 years(2011-2013 hated the weather but love the people)

Visited Austin and loved it but too expensive. Just moved from Atlanta which I didn't like so Houston doesn't really seem that attractive.

Gonna start a business probably having to do with kitchen/bath remodeling. Will also flip and sell the houses I live in. Im 31 and single(yeah...) so somewhere with a decent amount of young professional types. Any suggestions?

I had friends who lived in Bryan, Texas (College Station area) and loved it. You are looking at a city with a population of 85,000 in a county of around 250,000. Not the same level of opportunity that you would have in larger cities...but not the level of hassles either.

Plus, you will be able to attend Bama games locally every other year.

I always liked Fort Worth, also.

If you can’t get back there, maybe look in the Georgetown and Round Rock areas. Austin doesn’t show any signs of slowing its growth, and those areas are growing rapidly.

San Marcos is a growing area. Probably can do a lot of flipping there.

I would look back into Fort Worth. San Marcos is a good suggestion also, close to Austin if you liked it there but definitely cheaper and there’s a large university there

I have friends in Austin and San Marcos. San Marcos would also be a good option for me I think.

Interesting i’ll look into that. I made the mistake of living in a suburb of Atlanta and hated it but id hate to make any judgments of Houston and the surrounding area without at least visiting first. I may just do a road trip and visit all these places first.

I'm glad your here bruh. Nobody in Alabama wants to hear me talk shite about how ungrateful Kawhi is being and how his whole excuse is BS so he can justify forcing his way out like a bitch.

What are your feelings on the matter?

Sorry for the hijack OP, but this thread was lame anyway.

Extremely disappointed in Kawhi overall. Never expected this level of diva behavior from any Spur, but much less him. Dude seemed even more reserved/team oriented than tim Duncan.

I understand it's a business and I try not to expect players to be unreasonably loyal, but at the same time SA is an organization with a long-proven reputation for unselfish stars. Combine that with the fact that SA made Leonard a star to begin with, and it's just perplexing.

I feel like he's been given very poor advice from his camp and it's not only hurt the spurs, but it's hurt his reputation big time.

I'm biased as hell, but I've lived in and been to a lot of different states, and Texas is far and away my favorite. Cost of living, weather, food/culture, people, etc. Hard to beat in my book.

Right? Stephen Jackson's story about him getting cut sure isn't helping any either.

And it doesn't make sense that the Spurs would hold Kawhi out if it wasn't in his best interest.
If a team has a top 3 player in the entire league and he's healthy you play him, period,

There's definitely more to the story that we aren't going to hear about IMO

Yeah I don't think we'll ever get the full story unless/until Kawhi is gone for good (that's not even a sure thing, crazy as it sounds ).

Stephen Jackson is a hothead--his antics got him kicked out of SA twice. Now his main claim to fame is running down Pop or talking about his '07 warriors squad (malice in the palace notwithstanding ). His personality just lends himself to being the kind of guy that foments locker room drama.

That's the craziest thing with Kawhi. By all accounts he's an introvert who really only cares about getting better at basketball. Seemed a great fit on the Beautiful Game teams that shared the ball and the limelight. Idk if becoming the face of the franchise got to his head, or if it's the people he's surrounded himself with poisoning his judgment (and his relationship with the Spurs), but something obviously changed after 2014.

The biggest thing this last season, though, was the lack of communication. Both sides have been so tight-lipped (save for Kawhi's camp leaking ever-more damning revelations), that external sources have completely controlled the narrative. The worst part was the optics. Kawhi being the proclaimed face of the franchise....but couldn't be bothered to alter his training schedule to be there on the bench supporting said franchise as it scrapped and clawed down the stretch for a seed and during the series vs. GSW? That's a bad look, I don't care how you spin it. Even if the team was ok with it, it still said everything. HE should have wanted to be there. If he took his leadership role seriously.

Ill add SA to the road trip. Have always heard good things. How affordable are houses anywhere close to fun parts of town? Ill go crazy if I live in suburbs again.

Yeah, I think everybody saw Kawhi in a Duncan/ Admiral mold. And I completely understand wanting to go play for your hometown, but I doubt anybody could have predicted the way it would be handled. The Spurs definitely played Kawhi up in the role of silent leader like Duncan though, with that story about how he still drove the same car he had in HS and everything.

I'm over it already honestly. Im ready to move on and rebuild. Going to tough to watch the Spurs rebuild though, you know I've been a fan since 01 and there hasn't been a losing season I've witnessed yet... It'll be weird for sure.
