Too soon. From game seven on is where you see how teams are and if they are special or not.
They look really good though, very physical, close quick and pursue.

I haven't seen a weakness from the games I have seen. Todays offenses are much harder to scheme against for an entire game bc it's rare not to get mismatches bc of tempo.
They haven't faced that much tempo honestly. Tennessee will be the most tempo focused offense on their schedule.

You don’t consider Auburn a tempo team? Kentucky also ran a lot of tempo against Georgia

Not really anymore... They occasionally go uptempo, but it's not the same as when Gus was there. Avg Offensive Snaps per game for them is roughly middle of the pack these days:

Arkansas I think is the highest that we've faced, Tennessee the highest on our regular season schedule.
ETA: Also, worth noting how far down the UGA offense is on that list... though only averaging 31:05 TOP... between good field position and an efficient offense, not taking a ton of Offensive snaps to do what we need to so far.

Tenn. 76/game
Ark. 73/game
Auburn. 72/game
Not really any significant differences
A lot of factors play into these stats, big plays, avg. yards per play, time of pos., etc.

This right here
The best teams we will face offensively after UF will be against the SECCG opponent and playoff opponents. Those teams are going to have time to game plan and find the holes in the defense. Let’s wait until the season is over and then look at the metrics.
I will say this. UGA has had some amazing defenses, but this one makes me feel like we are playing against Hawaii in the 2008 sugar bowl every game. They are relentless and the pressure we are creating with only 4-5 rushers is crazy to watch. I have not seen a Kirby defense bring this kind of pressure or play this much zone…It’s been really fun to watch.

If they do match-up and Georgia can hold Alabama to single digits (even despite some of their struggles this year), and maybe an Ohio State, then we'll know. They certainly look the part today, but I think it's fair to say that literally no one can answer this question right now

Best defense ever? 1979 Alabama is certainly up there. Gave up 67 points all season in 12 games.

PLEASE.... Georgia has played no one. Let them play someone with a pulse before we anoint them.

The 1992 defense held #1 ranked Miami's offense to ZERO tds in the title game.

2002 Ohio State defense that shut down Miami and broke their 30+ game winning streak is probably the greatest all time.
Miami lit everyone up that season the the prior season until they ran into Will Smith and that OSU defense.

They’re on the level of 2011 LSU/Alabama who I had always personally regarded as the best college defenses of all time to this point
Still a lot of season left

At first glance no. I’d be willing to bet Tennessee has a significantly lower time per play/time between plays though

VASTLY MORE EXPENSIVE
$30,000,000 is the estimated cost of the entire team. Defense is the bigger portion of that.
Wonder who the rich boosters in Southwest Georgia who are distorting the entire college football foundations are...
So roughly 15% of the cost of an NFL roster for more players... I'll take it. Also... lol.
Of course, the teams doing it are destroying college football

It looks like 2016 Bama with how they attack all over the field and are producing like 2011 Bama.
Pretty damn impressive given 2021 offenses

Go sit down at the little kids table…The one team you played with a pulse you lost to…quit throwing shade without looking at your own strength of schedule.

Ole Miss gave up 21 points the whole year in 61 or 62.

Without a black athlete to be found, let alone a decent passing offense
