Do they beat Tennessee and Arkansas? I think absolutely not.

How many of these yards though are YAC’s from his receivers? Or how many of those completions from his percentage are completions that are at or behind the line of scrimmage? It was the same story with Mac. And Tua, so on and so on. With the playmakers and talent Bama has all over the field, majority of the plays and completions that make up these good looking numbers come off of passes that don’t even go 5 yards. Completions to Rb’s at the LOS, or some form of a bubble screen, all designed to get their playmakers the ball out in space in order to make a play or get a good chunk of yards. And the average fan won’t dive deep enough into a stat book to see this…
Not saying he sucks, just saying that it’s deceiving to just go by his statistics and not look deeper…

That whole spiel only applied to Tua and really only applied in 2018 when we ran Locks RPO offense with Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith and Waddle.
Mac was the best downfield thrower in the damn country last year. Anyone who thinks the stats say he threw a bunch of screens or slants has no clue what they are talking about.
Bryce's stats are almost entirely of his own making. Until the past game we had very few explosive plays from WRs.

Are you implying there is some quarterback out there who doesn't get a large chunk of his passing yards through YAC? Who is this mythical figure, and what fricking scrubs does he have going out for passes?

People see what they want to see.
Bryce Young is going to buttfrick a lot of these idiot's teams in the foreseeable future.
Hell, he's already booty rooted six teams.

Lol

The Bama quarterback has thrown an uncatchable ball on just 18.7% of his 10-plus-yard passes, which is over four percentage points better than any other Power 5 quarterback since we began charting QB accuracy and ball location back in 2018.
quote:
And all of this success isn’t entirely because he has open throw after open throw. He's actually thrown into a tight window on 15.2% of his passes this season, a rate that is about four percentage points higher than Tagovailoa's last season and is nearly double that of Justin Fields (8.3%) this year. Oh, and Jones has also been the most accurate passer on tight-window throws this season — by a large margin.

Ole Miss scored 21 vs BAMA in 2021.
Wut?
Bryce Young would throw for 500+ vs this baby shite soft BAMA defense.

Didn't Matt Corral lead that offense?
21 points?
Zach Calzada laughs at this.

Almost certainly not. Matt Corral is the best player in the country, hands down. I’m curious to see how Ole Miss looks when he’s not playing.

Yes.
Lane Kiffin is the QB whisperer and a scheming mastermind.
With Bryces talent, he'd have Ole Miss winning games.
Look at the variety of talent he had at QB at Bama, and look at how he made each look heads and shoulders above expectations.
Corral is talented, but I'd also no doubt benefiting some from the same Kiffin-QB effect. Bryce would as well

Lol. You’re comparing a first year starter to a 3-year starter.

Lane Kiffin turned Blake Sims,a RB, into a world beater. Briefly held the passing yardage record for Alabama.

Funny. I seem to remember all of the opponents fans (especially LSU) hitting Saban hard for riding Derrick Henry: 'Oh, he'll never make it to the NFL; This is why Bama players don't make it in the pro's, they are worn out... blah, blah, blah'. If you haven't noticed, 3 former Bama QB's are starting in the NFL and half of the outstanding players came through that school.
Let's talk about Joey Freshwater and Corral.

Amari Cooper was a big part of that.
