Anyone else see a problem with this? This is the softball program in a microcosm. You see any other sport scheduling a game for the convenience of one player's family? Look, I love Montana to death and what she has meant for the softball program and she deserves all the accolades she gets, BUT, this is making one player bigger than the program and it's Murphy's whole damn problem and his whole coaching style all rolled into one. Montana and one or two other girls are Murph's "teacher's pets" so they get special treatment, like scheduling Marshall so the extended family can go see Montana play. That's total bull shite. You wanna know why players are hitting the portal after one season? There's your answer in a nutshell. Some players are treated different than others. Maybe Saban should have scheduled Hawaii all 4 years Tua was here so the Tagliavoa family wouldn't have had to move to Alabama. That is so bush league, but that is Murphy and always will be.
Murphy has done this every year for years now. He usually does it for senior captains. This year we played at Western Kentucky for i believe Tow? I may have gotten the player wrong. But anyways this isn't a new thing and I actually think it is great. Murphy has coaching issues for sure, but you can't doubt his love for his players

He’s definitely done it for years. I can recall games at Fordham in 2012 for Casey Reilly. And lost that game.

I don't see a problem with that at all. Dean Smith, who is one of the greatest coaches to ever coach at any sport, was one of the first coaches to do that, he would schedule games in the home towns of as many of his players as he could especially seniors. I call that a nice touch. What I have a problem with more so than our hitting slumps, or recruiting misses, or coaching blunders, I think you see that everywhere, is how we can not avoid KB Sides, Skylar Wallace, and now 3 good true freshman in Lord, Goodnight, and Bloodworth who started and contributed well, to leave our program. There is a new problem emerging, because that is 5 sure fire starters in just a matter of 3 years?? If I was the AD thats the question I would want answered.

Dean Smith is a good example. North Carolina came to Tuscaloosa when they had Pete Chillcut.

I may be clueless, but not as clueless as Murphy and his dick riders in here. The man wins one 'ship by riding a generational pitcher in the J-Train all the way and y'all think he's some damn genius! He got lucky! Can't replicate it. Girls are hitting the transfer portal like it has a revolving door. But I'm clueless. Whatever, see how far Uncle Pat takes his all his girlfriend buddies next year. I'll give you a sneak preview: same shite, different year. Team 27 will fall short again.

saw two games last night with team USA at world games at Hoover Met. Place looks great. Fouts came in for 3 innings in relief with USA up by 6-0. In her 3 innings she KO 7. Gave up one to BB and another reached base on a bone headed play by the 2B. If you will recall this team struggled to score runs at the olympics. There appear to be a complete ovrall of that team. I think there are at least 6 college ladies along with Fouts. From memory two were from ok including the national player of the year and their Catcher who started.
