Arkansas has landed a commitment from Butler (Kan.) Community College cornerback Christopher Rhodes.

The 6-0, 185-pound defensive back went public with his decision on Tuesday following a one-day unofficial visit with the Razorbacks, choosing Sam Pittman’s program over other offers from UT-Martin, Towson and Mississippi Valley State.

"I'm a Razorback," Rhodes told HawgSports. "Worked out really well, actually. Loved the visit, Pitt (head coach Sam Pittman) is super cool!"

Rhodes has already received his associate degree and plans to move in at the UA on May 26. The Independence (Mo.) Truman native will have three years of eligibility remaining in Fayetteville.

Rhodes was recruited by defensive backs coaches Marcus Woodson and Deron Wilson, along with the help of defensive coordinator Travis Williams.

Rhodes told HawgSports over the weekend that he initially planned to stay at Butler C.C. through the 2023 season in order to stockpile more game film, but an offer from the Razorbacks would be too much to turn down, he said.

“Since I just received my associates degree I’m able to leave now, but the plan was to come back to get a full season’s worth of tape and then leave in December,” Rhodes said. “But obviously if I go on this visit and they offer me, I’m committing on the spot!”
