It’s BYU. Agree, they are good but not top 8 good.

Btw, I have watched some Notre Dame football. Don’t think they are top 4 but they are actually pretty good this year. Much better than I expected. Your thoughts? (Deff better than BYU).

I'm not high on Notre Dame. They might lose to North Carolina this weekend.
I believe BYU may have the best offensive line in the country and their QB Wilson will be a top 5 pick.
If I were ranking them they would be just slightly behind A&M and Florida.

North Alabama was division II or III in the old format? I remember them winning some titles, bizarre that they are playing FBS teams now

I remember Boise State whipping Georgia in Atlanta back in 2011.
I'm not a BYU fan, but they are getting shafted. They would pound Cincinnati.

Seriously doubt that. Cincinnati has been recruiting nearly P5 level. I think they would wax BYU

Neither BYU or Cincy gonna make the playoff so would be a fun NY 6 bowl game.

Missouri was impressive when they played that kind of a schedule when Heupel was the OC and Odom the HC but when it came to the SEC and top teams and they get blown out big time!

Misery was never impressive when Odom was HC

Yes that is correct. People were saying that back then. I am saying same thing for BYU! They played no one and that isn't impressive!

DII. They were pretty dominant in the early 90s, with a 3-peat National Title run.
Jax St is a traditional rival and they have begun their move into FCS to follow suit. They have also had a decent BB and baseball team over the years. A DII title in BB and beat Ole Miss their first year in D1 baseball.
They are my hometown team, so I have bias. But, they also have the best purple and gold combo unis, 2 x live lion mascots central to campus, the DII Heisman equivalent is named after one of their former players (Harlon Hill), and they were the host site for DII NC Games for a number of years.
They have possibility to easily grow into the 3rd best team in AL and be as dangerous as any Sunbelt Team... honestly, I'll miss their DII strength but look forward to their first major upset.
That said (back on topic), BYU OL is tremendous, but a 7 pt win vs UTSA, come on. They are not top 10.

They aren't allowed to play anyone else since none of the other conferences allow no conference opponents.
I'd look into scheduling Cincinnati if I were them tho.
ETA: Boise State and Houston are two of the best non P5 teams you can schedule

They'd beat Auburn probably.

BYU hasn't even played a single power 5 team. They're lucky to even BE ranked.

BYU has a history of producing QB’s. As far as their OL goes, people forget that BYU sends players on a two year mission to help people in Africa or South America etc. So what they are allowed are 25 year olds in their prime to be OL. Not knocking it, I think it’s good to see that kind of work. But they are generally stronger and when they do have a good year of solid defensive players they can do well.
