Bruh you haven't left this thread in 2 hours. You're rustled.
With one reply to kate, chief.
I'm still here because I'm really enjoying the banter. Not sure where you gather that I'm "rustled"
Now if I were arguing for days that the result of a game should be overturned for a bad call, then you will know I'm rustled.

The opposing team should have the choice whether or not they will enforce the 10 second runoff.

Are you that dense or are you really looking for an honest answer?
The Auburn player was in the best position to recover the ball when the whistle blew. There was absolutely no one except mizzou players around the ball on the other one.

Yea, from what i've been reading, it looks like the defense can decline the runoff and still accept the yardage. If they decline the penalty, then they have to decline the runoff.
The on field refs were absolutely wrong there when they told Arky they couldn't decline the runoff.

ETA: From The Official Forum, an interpretation of the Byzantine Inadvertent Whistle Rule 4, section 2 Article 3 (emphasis mine):
quote:
B. If there's a backward pass, fumble, illegal forward pass or illegal kick and an IW occurs while ball is still loose, the team who lost possession can choose to take the ball at the spot where they lost the ball or to replay the down (if all penalties are declined).

It isn't true no matter how many times you morons say it.
Don't lower your standards. Your emotions are clouding your line of thought.
Here is the rule plain and simple, covering the "immediate clause on replays as well."
A direct snap which is fumbled or muffed and touches the ground, eliminates the protections of the spike rule. The actions afterward resulted in a flag for an illegal forward pass. Note "Illegal forward pass" Not a backward pass, but a forward pass. (CYA) There are numerous reasons for Officials to be out of position to make the call. The White Hat is typically 10 yards behind the QB and on the side of his throwing arm. My thoughts are that the White Hat was caught by surprise and thus screwed everything up from the moment the ball hit the ground. He expected a simple snap and spike of the football. What he got was the unexpected. He did not mentally connect no spike and backward pass. He panicked. The White Hat is the only one guilty of making the mistake. All other Officials simply mirrored the whistle of the White Hat. The "Immediate clause is eliminated because ...the back bounces away from Nix, is then touched by an Arkansas Player, eliminating "Immediate" touches the "C" Official and finally recovered by Arkansas while players of both teams are stopped because of the whistles.
Replay has sound and visual video evidence. They see and hear both. The White Hat had to admit he blew his whistle because plainly, it can be seen that he is waving his arms prior to approaching Nix. He is the only Official waving his hands. The other officials then sound their whistles and mirror his signal. The White Hat was confronted with the sound of his whistle following the illegal spike. That's why he is talking to himself after removing the headset and walking away from the equipment. He needs to develop a poker face. He is the lone Official that should be suspended, no one else should be sidelined because of this result.
Because the ball was not recovered by someone busting through the offensive line and recovering the backward pass at the feet of Nix .....the immediate clause is null and void. It is touched by an Arkansas Player away from Nix, bounces away, then touches an Official that is in the backfield along with the White Hat, then recovered by another player.
Replay had no other choice but to rule an illegal pass, killed by an inadvertent whistle, with no immediate recovery. Replay gets it right due to the circumstances presented to them by the Officiating Crew.
Hard pill to swallow ....

So you got a bad call on the field that wasn't corrected by the booth, a bad spot on the bad call, and another bad call by not allowing us to decline the penalty which chewed off most of the little time remaining on the clock.
I don't know how any rational person could look at that set of circumstances, in a game that had otherwise been called well, and see that as anything but an intentional con job by the refs.

There's the root of your problem. They may have fricked up, but nobody did anything intentionally.

are we still bitching about this?
The refs kicked the call from the start. Replay could do nothing about it because multiple refs called the play dead with whistles and incomplete signals.
It was a horrible call on the field. Is everybody new to the SEC? You will see horrible calls in multiple games this weekend.........and next, and the week after that.

It was a screwup by SEC officials. You know, similar to the dozens that happen every week. This one was more damaging to your team's chance of victory, so you are complaining about it more.
The guys charged with getting it right got it wrong. It's incompetence, not malevolence.

This reminds me of that time some politician admitted to making like 17 "mistakes" in the filing of some report or another and every single mistake just so happens to benefit one political party.
Not trying to make things political, but that's literally what comes to mind.

It isn't a burn. You're just calling anyone that doesn't think this was a con job, irrational. Which actually, makes you irrational.
Just calling a spade a spade.

It wasnt a mistake that made a difference. Inadvertent whistles happen all the time. The 2nd whistle prevented anyone from recovering the ball. Get over it and be glad you are still a member of the SEC.
Posted on 10/12/20 at 1:22 pm to BoarEd
Dude, give it up. You lost. That may not be how it should have gone for you......but that's exactly how it went. Continuing to cry and bitch about it makes you look silly. move.on.

I'm not taking it hard. Just discussing it. No matter what happens I'm happy with our new coach. I'm guessing folks aren't too keen on the 20,000,000 dollar man right now though.
