Why does Clemson get a #1 ranking at this point?
Alabama destroyed a top 15 team, Georgia destroyed a top 10 team, while clemson played an unranked ACC.
Either Alabama or Georgia have a better argument to be #1 at this point in time.

Agreed, and Dabo complains about having to go undefeated. Yes, you have to go undefeated when you play Panera bread every week. They are honestly lucky the playoff committee lets them in at all with that abomination of a schedule.

They know Clemson is statistically the most likely to remain unbeaten, so they’ll become #1 at some point unless another team just dominates. Shitty, but that’s the way it goes.

I don't think A&M should've been that high after nearly losing to Vandy who barely has a team. I'd go 1) UGA 2) Bama 3) Clemson

On paper it’s 1a Clemson 1b Bama 1c tOSU with 4 being Florida/UGA. In 2 weeks the winner of UGA/Bama (its going to be Bama) jumps Clemson and clears things up.

I'm surprised tOSU isn't ahead of UGA to be honest.
Clemson is absolutely deserving of the #1 spot. But, polls are slow to change after the initial poll because of the bias it creates. That said, if Bama and UGa are both undefeated top 5 teams in 2 weeks, the winner has a good shot to jump Clemson (who will be playing a weak GT that weekend).

They can have it. Bama has a much better record as number 2, and Clemson does look good and very ahtletic too. They are going to roll over the ACC again.

That sword cuts both ways. Bama has been in the same position and faced the same questions. It will sort itself out like it always does.

Because most pollsters vote based on what team they think is the best and/or where they think a team will be at the end of the year. Not necessarily what a team has done so far in the season. Clemson cannot help the conference they are in nor how they have performed.
