It looked like they are expanding the endzone area. Will the Longhorns have a bigger and better stadium than the Aggies?

Not sure what capacity will be but it’s going to be... something

If so, they'd be foolish.
A lot of these folks expanding to 100,000+ seats are going to regret it. The ideal college football stadium of the future is about 65,000 cheap seats and a healthy number of club seats and suites.

I'm not sure why they need to expand their 100,000 seat stadium in an era of declining attendance. But you go ahead and waste that $175 million, UTexas.

Why should it get bigger? They had only 98,000+, not even a full stadium (seats just over 100k).
Their crowd got loud at times, but still it wasn't anything compared to some SEC stadiums.

I dont know...that's why I'm asking. I haven't watched Texas play football since Ricky Williams before Saturday night

They should do what OU did and go down to about 80-85k but with really nice club areas and suites. OU has the nicest stadium in CFB IMO.

Hopefully their expansion can include AC or even fans in the locker rooms

They are adding seats to a dump as they don’t have the funds for anything else
We completely redid the entire stadium like new
No comparison

I drove by it last week. Holy hell what a dump. The entire area looks like the 1970’s

The stadium was absolutely full.

No clue.
If you’re legit interested, you’ll likely receive more reliable data on a horn board.
If they are indeed updating their stadium, I’m sure it’ll be impressive.
Each time a “new” school launches an improvements project, the construction and amenities are typically more timely and modern than everyone else’s.
It’s like upgrading your cell phone.
The second you purchase a new one, a better version is announced the next day.

I have never been to that part of Texas. But from what I saw on TV don't like it me. It looks too damm hot plus everybody wears Orange.

I just realized in the rendering I posted that, apparently, they’re going to be waving giant arse Longhorn flags in the crowd once construction wraps up

Taking off the Aggy hat and looking at it honestly, this renovation is long overdue, and will not likely result in much an expanded capacity. They need more club seating and nicer accommodations.
Now...
Aggy Hat [ ]OFF [X]ON
HAHAHA, those fricking pathetic, burnt-orange, t-sipping motherfrickers are not keeping up with the Jones's (Aggy), they ARE the Jones's.

Texas' plans for the endzone will NOT expand the current capacity of 100,119.
"Fenves told the UT System Board of Regents on Thursday that the new south end zone expansion of Royal-Memorial Stadium will not increase the stadium seating capacity of 100,119."
Their stated goal is "quality, not quantity". They're wise not to expand seating capacity. They couldn't fill all their seats for the LSU game.

You think they were selling tickets for $375 in the upper deck and the stadium wasn’t full? Ok, man

Capacity is reduced by around 5k seats this year b/c of the renovations. They normally have bleachers in the endzone that's under construction.
