Is there any evidence at all to suggest this is a vaccine issue?

There’s no way it’s a vaccine issue. For one we aren’t requiring a vaccine status to enter the stadium, so why would Saban use vaccine status to dictate the depth chart. This is simply an attitude problem. He probably isn’t doing the things the Saban wants him to do as a leader. Simple as that.

Any word on Hellams and Branch? Hellams was in a boot at the last scrimmage and Branch left with an injury

Yep:

The Crimson Tide could be without starting safety DeMarcco Hellams in the game in Atlanta as he continues to recover from an ankle sprain. Should he miss the matchup with the Hurricanes, sophomore Brian Branch is expected to start at the safety spot opposite Jordan Battle.

“DeMarcco will start running today,” Saban said on Monday. “He’s still probably questionable for this game, so I can’t answer whether he’ll be available for the game or not.”

Apparently Warchant says we are 100% vaccinated now. That can’t be right can it?

To expand on the availability of Hellams and Branch a bit ... here's the relevant part of the article:

"The Crimson Tide could be without starting safety DeMarcco Hellams in the game in Atlanta as he continues to recover from an ankle sprain. Should he miss the matchup with the Hurricanes, sophomore Brian Branch is expected to start at the safety spot opposite Jordan Battle.

'DeMarcco will start running today,' Saban said on Monday. 'He’s still probably questionable for this game, so I can’t answer whether he’ll be available for the game or not.'"

Get him ready for the SEC schedule. We'll need him when we go to the Swamp. Branch can handle things on Saturday.

I don't know if it has been brought up here but from another forum "He wasn't given his "time out" because he didn't get the vaccination. At the time there were a few that hadn't received their shots and they were told not to go home during a break from fall camp (to avoid the chances of getting C-19.) Billingsley went home anyway."

Dime:

Branch at Money, Malachi at star

Battle at FS, maybe Story or Wright at the other safety spot. Probably Wright.

I trust Wright has gotten better as he was the weak link last year in the secondary

Not sure if he’s improved, he’s been in the program for a long time. For a starter he’s subpar for us, but he’s definitely a great backup to have with all that experience.

Agree, he’s made plenty of plays for us to include a few pick six. I trust him in the game.

Wright is good in coverage but last year he was about as bad at tackling as any player from the Saban era. He improved that in the playoffs but he's never gonna remind anyone of Landon Collins.
