I think Chaney did a good job at Uga. Tennessee fans laughed when we hired him, now he is a homerun hire for them. What has changed since his first go around at Tennessee?
Kirby did a great job developing Jim as an OC. That’s the only rational answer.

The LSU game is the only one I remember being "really bad". What other games are you referring to that were "really" bad? I mean, I am sure there have been some games in which everything didn't hit....but really bad?

You may want to check that...
You may not have been one of those, but I do distinctly remember a lot of Tennessee and Arkansas fan laughing at us for hiring him, saying he would forget about the run game and pass all the time, etc.

Only 4 left, just like what will happen at Bama.
If you become a decent program, you will see it happen too.

Was awful at Miami as OC. An embarrassment. Hope you guys promote him.

Arkansas and UT fans were OVERWHELMINGLY laughing at us about the Chaney hire; anyone who implies otherwise is being intentionally disingenuous or has memory problems.

I’m noticing a trend...
ETA: I won’t add the sugar bowl because of lack of effort, but the play calls were quite repetitive in that game as well.

Chaney is a decent OC and good hire for Pruitt & VOLS.
Chaney did a good job for Dawgs but he is terrible at in-game adjustments as was seen in LSU, Texas and two Bama games.
It’s obvious to me with Oklahoma, Clemson and Bama that Georgia needs to be able to go fast and get vertical in the bigger games like CFP, when the game calls for it.
I will be more happy than sad that Chaney leaves if he is adequately replaced. However if Coley steps up from Co-OC to OC, then Dawgs got worse - he was terrible for Miami.

Nope. Going to be a lifer at UGA. He's getting a title and pay bump to the highest paid OL coach in history at $1.5 million.
Easy to see who UGA valued between Chaney and PittBoss.

UG fans last week, "He is the greatest OC in the history of the conference." (exaggeration)
UG fans this week, "He was terrible and Kirby wanted him gone."
He must have been the one that called that fake punt in the SECCG? or made up the offensive game plan in the Sugar bowl?

Find us one example of a Georgia fan claiming he was the greatest OC in the history of the conference.
We will all wait for your old dumb arse.

That isn't the way tRant works, I don't have to prove shite. You lost your OC to another team in the SEC East, no need to bash the man, he just upgraded.

Straw man argument. No UGA fans were ever claiming Chaney to be the best OC. In fact, he was drawing a ton of ire from the LSU game on.
The realistic folks on the Rant, albeit a very small percentage of the total Ranters, realize that if UGA valued Chaney, they would have paid whatever it took to keep him.
The case study proving this point is Sam Pittman. Bama needs a OL coach with Key leaving to GT and UT was coming after him too, so what did UGA do? Made him the highest paid OL coach in history. If they really valued Chaney, they would have done the same.

Not really. We offered Chaney $1.5M and Tennessee counteroffered with $1.6M. I highly doubt we didn't match the extra $100K because we didn't have the funds.

I just hope he wasn't the one that worked Mullen the last two times UGA played against him.
