Nick Saban asked about his most memorable game at Alabama: "If I had to pick one, it would probably be the Rose Bowl game, the first national championship game in 2009 against Texas."

Said he appreciated players who bought into the program when it wasn't good and built it up.

The 2009 NC team was definitely my favorite in the Saban era. They ended Urban's run at UF and was the only team to go undefeated. Plus as Saban said, most of the best players on that team signed with Bama when they were mediocre and not the dominant force that everybody wanted to play for.

That game single handedly broke Texas.

Can’t argue with it. Iconic stadium and setting. Iconic opponent.

What’s his favorite win that doesn’t have an asterisk next to it?

I wonder how it would have went if Colt didn’t get hurt.

Undefeated national title in year 3, a year after an undefeated regular season that no one saw coming. Looked like Bama was set up for big things. Too many asterisks and mulligans since then. Crazy to think what could have been

I know it’s crazy. But I was there. Amazing game. Amazing atmosphere. The Bama fans that went to that game were true fans. And thank you to the random Bama fans for the booze during the game.

It don’t take much to break a soft arse Texas kid. Stidham has proven that better than anyone.

The Gumps struggled against Garrett Gilbert. Colt wins easily.

The great irony is that Bama team was probably the least talented of all the championship teams, yet was the only one to go undefeated.

It sounds cliche, but they had the most heart.

Colt would have channeled his inner Middle Linebacker and stopped Alabama’s 2 100 yard rushers. People forget Greg McElroy’s ribs were broken that day. He just didn’t pussy out

You know it was his and his parents’ decision to leave him out of that game right?

He didn’t get injured because of something freak that happened in practice or on a weird play. A Bama player hit him and it injured him. And it wasn’t his throwing arm either.

I understand your bewilderment. I often wonder how the GOTC would’ve went had Bama not missed all those FGs.

Still the dumbest argument in the world. He got drilled by an Alabama defender on a clean hit. It's not like he tore his knee on a non contact injury or got concussed on a dirty play.

He got knocked the frick out off the game by Alabama fair and square.

Asterik? Haters gonna hate
