If I remember right he was the 3rd down pass rush opposite of flowers. I could be making shite up though.

he was a specialist who now plays decent amounts of time in the nfl.

he was way under utilized.

flowers had a great career but reality is he never progressed here to what he could have been under better coaches.

SG is a week from today.

Two practices prior - Tuesday and Thursday.

Two practices after Saturday to finish our 15 for the spring - Monday and Wednesday - will be helmet and shorts only.

They will review and correct things from the SG.

Coaches in the summer are able to watch players in conditioning as well as hold meetings for a couple hours a week but any on the field work is prohibited. They will use these two practices especially the last one as instruction on how they want the voluntary (yet mandatory) player led summer workouts going and the expectations. The pace will be a major emphasis.

Our 2014 defense was loaded by Arkansas standards. We were pretty good man.

The following year I often found myself fantasizing about a team that combined the 2015 offense with the 2014 defense. Would have been legit.

Pig Trail Nation @PigTrailNation

Morris On spring game “Maleek Barkley and Brandon Martin will not be at the spring game. Sosa will not be there either he has a funeral to attend.”

Morris on Austin Capps “he will travel but he won’t play. It’s unfortunate because we were really excited about him. But he’s done a great job coming in and getting mental reps.”

So much for having high hopes on Martin. Hopefully it’s just an injury thing and not a disciplinary thing but I don’t think he’s been at practice recently either.

First time we get a receiver that highly rated out of JUCO and of course he’s a bust.

What was his injury? A rolled ankle pops to mind.

I believe that’s what has been reported. Perhaps that will be the new mono or broken foot for this staff.

Some depth chart tidbits at today’s practice from 247. Has Jalen Merrick finally decided to move on?

quote:

In the very first period of practice, Arkansas did a little bit of 1s on 1s and 2s on 2s. Because the first-team units were moving away from where the media was positioned, it was hard to get a really good look at it. One thing of note is that Johnny Gibson Jr. was the No. 1 right guard. The first-team wide receivers Cornelius, La'Michael Pettway and Jonathan Nance. It was good to see Cornelius actually participating in some semi-live action because he had been mostly limited all spring.

The second-team offensive line had some shuffling, with walk-on Tyler Hall at left tackle and Shane Clenin at right guard. That latter move was one Morris mentioned during his pre-practice press conference. The obvious question is: Where is Jalen Merrick? He didn't work with either unit and was not seen with the other offensive linemen during individual drills.

The second-team wide receivers were Deon Stewart, Michael Woods and Tyson Morris. Hawgs247 pondered earlier in the spring about how long Morris, a walk-on, would stick near the top of the depth chart and here we are just two days before the spring game.

It was impossible to get a good look at the first-team defense, but the second-team defense was easy to chart as the ball came back toward the media. Jamario Bell finally moved up into the spot behind Randy Ramsey, as Jake Hall moved inside. Hall played alongside Jonathan Marshall on the interior defensive line. At linebacker, Giovanni LaFrance manned the middle, with Dee Walker at the Will and Derrick Munson at the nickel/Sam. That presumably means D'Vone McClure moved up to the starting nickel spot. Morris praised McClure during the pre-practice press conference, saying he has done a "fabulous job." Arkansas also did some special teams drills. One thing of note is that Cornelius and Stewart were the players catching the punts.

I've had some awful good mental reps at sex too, but it doesn't always translate to actual performance.

Heard Biddy's radio hit today and he mentioned a few players missing like Merrick and Scoota. He had Hall inside and Agim back at LDE and Morgan at MIKE with LaFrance behind him.

I was blessed to be able to attend spring practice today.
My thoughts from a fan perspective:

Ty Storey had a bad day, it was obvious that his timing was off.

Cole Kelley had the better day, sometimes a step slow but mostly all his passes were on target.

No Martin, Merrick or Harris sightings on the field. Not a clue why.

Agim in at the nose, #beastmode

Oline, sketchy at best.

Corners played press coverage, almost shat my pants.

Michael Woods is legit even after dropping a 55 yd. bomb from Cole Kelley.

As bad a Pettway looked last year, the improvement he's made is scary good.

After attending Nutt and Petrino's practices, what I saw today was blazing fast in comparison.

20 plays in a row, no huddle.
