He wouldn't be the first pro athlete to piss all his money away. As for his current salary, who knows? People with poor money management skills can find all kinds of dumb shite to spend money on.

how did he lie? who did he say the agent was?
Also, she accepted money, so has AU ruled him ineligible pending NCAA review?
His mother also played basketball for us. She knows the deal. She didn't need anyone to lie to her

State was awful, until they hired Howland and suddenly started reeling off top recruiting classes
Last I looked, we were still awful. But, it's the newer regime I would be worried about, certainly not the Rick Ray staff.

We have some history in basketball, brand new facilities, and we hired a coach who had been to like 4 final fours and has a rep for getting players into the league. It's not that shady.

Gives her an out though, doesn't it. "I can't believe Chuck lied to us about where the money was coming from."

Apparently $17k a month is tough to get by on...

The way it reads though is that before any particular players were really discussed, Chuck was talking with this suit guy about needing a $60k loan. Why does Chuck need a $60k loan and why can't he get it from a legit source?

You aren't wrong, but that argument isn't super valid in this instance. Every P5 school is screwed. Landed a 4* or better recruit in the last 5 years? Extra super screwed.
This is something that happens everywhere, including State. These kids don't sign without having their foot in the door for endorsement deals. They don't even go to Duke or UK without doing it, they would be dumb not to take the opportunity, this literally affects every school with a major apparel contract.
