I'm not the one struggling with the concept that spread offenses are all read option offenses...
Posted on 6/18/17 at 9:48 am to DaleDenton
If they ever address the linemen downfield issue, you'll see a big change in these offenses.
Posted on 6/18/17 at 10:41 am to DaleDenton
Every spread offense has a read option concept.

That is factually incorrect. You are talking running spread offenses.
Posted on 6/18/17 at 11:44 am to RazorHawg
Right. Pretty sure Leach, for example, never runs any read option
Posted on 6/18/17 at 12:04 pm to Porcine Human
Right air raid doesn't do read option.
Posted on 6/18/17 at 12:05 pm to RazorHawg
So you don't think mike leach has option concepts in his playbook? If be shocked of he doesn't although he may not run it very often I'm pretty sure it's in there. He'll bobby petrino had it in his offense but you didn't see it much until he got Lamar Jackson. Only time I can remember him running it with Arkansas was on a 2 pt conversion with Tyler wilson vs a&m but it was still there

Oklahoma runs air raid and I know for a fact they run the read option at times. May not be the same as power spread teams like urbam meyer, mullen, Saban run but still they run it. And Alabama runs the read option primarily out of the pistol not true spread.

And back to dales original idiotic statement saying the read option was a fad that is going to die so we don't need to get a coach who runs the read option (which basically means don't get anyone running the spread) urban meye, nick sabanr and dabo swinney run the read option as a staple in their offense and they are the top coaches in college football. Meyer has been running it since Utah. I'm really curious at to when he thinks the read option is going to die?

Offense hasn't been the issue...it's been the defense. Quit trolling the home board
Posted on 6/18/17 at 1:03 pm to sugatowng
Dale is the one trolling not me. I'm discussing how the read option will never die in college football lately. Don't get your panties in a wad.

Your OP reeked of insecurity and put Gus on a petastal...don't put pussy on a petasal son

Oklahoma ran the ball 60% of the time last year... just because Wikipedia says they're air raid doesn't make them air raid. In fact I'm going to go change it right now lol
edit: The actual number is probably a bit lower from Baker scrambling on pass plays though

We need to get better on D...period!
Enos has proven his playcallig is legit and he seems to be one of the better QB developers in the conference.
We will go 8-4 at a minimum IMO

We'll probably get some more picks in the secondary the next few years. Pulley's one, and hopefully at least one of the safeties pan out.
Agim's most likely getting drafted. Dre could go as well.

If agim doesn't go in the first 2 rounds it's a clear sign we don't have guys on the hill who can develop dline talent. He has all of the raw tools.

You would want him now? Go from mediocre.00 to mediocre.01?
Patiently awaiting your Danny Ford and Jack Crowe threads...

As with the rest of your threads, I only skimmed it.
I saw you posted you weren't a fan of his then why pose the question in the first place?
