Exactly, and that's what sucks. Unfortunately, I think it's 50-50 at best if he's on the team this Fall. This whole thing smells too much to not be a lasting issue.

A Rusty VIP thread titled clearing up on Trent had 44 up votes. I hope that indicates that the health threat isn't dire.

Trent is from my hometown and we're proud of him. I was impressed when he preserved the Mizzou game by tackling Brisco who failed to take a knee.

What's your inside VIP information saying for the 44 upvotes?

I don't know. VIP only info and no one has paraphrased.

What site were you on? Maybe somebody will get the full scoop soon. I'm still hoping the big guy gets this handled and can get back to doing what he was made to do. Been the best run stopper we've had in several years.

Towers has an article a day or two ago and he said he's certain that Trent will be back and enrolled by the first day of summer courses. Trent has maymester, Summer I, and Summer II to get his 30 hours (combined with the courses from the fall; most guys only take around 9 hours so that they can focus during the season). If he takes 2 courses in each summer term and throws a lab in, then he should be okay. That would be one helluva summer work load, though.

It's a star athlete at a major college football program.
If the question is "can be take/pass enough classes?", the answer is always going to be yes.

I understand that. It just isn't going to be an easy summer for him. I was very glad to hear that he is expected back.

I've also read that there could be some type of medical hardship waiver he could try to get that would make it much easier for him to be eligible this fall. Everything I've read recently makes it sound like there's a really good chance he's back on the field this season.

He can get a waiver based on progress toward degree and having to pursue a medical hardship withdrawal. He'll probably take 6-9 hours this summer and 12 in the fall depending on what courses he still needs in pursuit of his degree. All told, he should get the waiver from the NCAA but then AJ Green should have been left alone and Gurley should have been let back by the mizzou game

I heard Chip Towers (I believe) on Brandon Adams podcast say it was definitely a medical issue and not a drug issue. He also said he knows a lot more about the situation but couldn't comment due to HIPPA regulations and had watched the police body camera footage and read the supplemental reports. He confirmed that TT was out of it and that a police officer asked TT if he had taken oxies and TT answered "yes". That's a little different that it was portrayed in the initial report as I beleievef than TT just telling the officers that he had taken two oxies. I now believe he'll be back by summer at the latest.

TT has been back in Athens the last couple of days, checking out Pro Day today.

Chip did mention that weight wise, he's down to like 270ish right now (supposedly associated with the medical condition)... certainly would like to see him back on campus sooner rather than later (healthy most importantly) as he'd have to put back on at least 20-25 pounds to man the DT spot safely this season, and likely needs 30+ to cover the NT spot in any rotations where it's needed. Sounds like things are progressing well for him medically though, so glad to hear it. Just don't want this to be the first domino and then have injury issues during the season from competing at a weight too light for what he's used to doing.

Yeah, Rusty said on 247 that TT had dropped below 265 lbs before he left campus but he's doing really well and back up to around 280-285 (healthy weight, too). I don't know what issue(s) he was dealing with, but that kind of weight loss is scary. Glad to hear he's doing much better.
