Not to be a buzzkill on this one but it looks like we’re going to lose out on Wilkins. He visited OU this weekend and told their reporters that he’s going to commit somewhere after his Bama visit next week. Apparently he also told one of our guys that he wants to get of Arkansas

Don’t be surprised if Darious Thomas goes to UGA

That sucks but it’s understandable. I can’t blame someone for wanting to live somewhere different and see new things.
I'll understand as long as it isn't oklahoma. that would be such a waste

Clemson offers Treylon Burks

These kids need to get more creative in how they announce new offers. It’s always the same for all of them.

They’re definitely not instilling confidence in me.

Yea I'm reserving judgment, but everything I've seen the past few weeks suggests an epic squandering of the best in state class we've had in ten years. Hudson going to Stanford would be a gigantic kick in the balls.
ETA: and we still don't even have any high 3 star commits.

possible unrealistic expectations with our recruiting until Morris shows how his teams will perform here and until we see some success
things other schools can and will use against us
morris only has college head coaching experience at SMU where his record was mediocre
SMU just went 7-6
we just went 4-8
lots of unknowns until we play games
success this coming season will alleviate those concerns with recruits and our recruiting will really pick up.
struggle and we're in for another class ranked like his first class

Some of what you're saying is true, but you're overplaying it. Bielema, coming off 4-8 and a JLS embarrassment, recruited better than this. Bielema recruited better than this coming off our worst season ever in 2013. An SEC school, especially one with our investment, should not recruit this poorly. We should not get out recruited by Kentucky and Vandy. Your points would be more well received if it weren't for the strength of this in state class. Morris was hired for his recruiting potential. There are a million coaches that run this offense. It needs to show this year because we can't afford another class like last year's.

this is for everyone, not just you man...
Morris took a huge chance coming here, rather than waiting another year for other openings. He is definitely a better overall coach than what just left.
After faltering following CBP, and having the clown show of Smile, then having the big slow big 10 coach. This is an absolute cluster to take over.
From our strength and conditioning program, to broken feet, to lack of preparation to lack of talent. He has staked his entire future as a HC on this program. He has on staff a couple of coaches who have been known for their recruiting in the past, a SEC D coordinator who has had success elsewhere, and he seems relentless with energy everywhere.
It may take time, but he has it if he can win anything at all. It is early.... Yes, we have some better recruits here in state than in a while... But things are different than they used to be, these kids overall are not tied to being all in on being a Razorback. I just hope and pray CCM get them to buy in somehow, someway.

I think the issue here that is making some nervous is that the top instate recruits just don’t seem interested at all. Sure they’ve all stopped by to visit but they all seem focused elsewhere.
Bielema, Nutt and Petrino all landed 70ish percent of the instate recruits that they offered. Bielema was probably a little higher while Nutt and Petrino were about the same. So far though it doesn’t look like Morris is going to hit that mark this year which is extremely concerning considering the number has stayed steady, no matter the coach or record, over the entire course of the recruiting rankings era.
He’s going to have to turn that around because he doesn’t seem to be making a dent out of state either right now. He can’t afford for those guys to leave.

That makes absolute sense, however I am not sure what else he could do at this point. I haven't seen this amount of detail and effort going into recruiting in all my time as a fan.
It sucks, I think going after Gus may have hurt some of this as well, as he was considered the savior of the Hogs by many. When that momentum was virtually killed by Gus turning us down, we "settled" for a coach who hasn't had any real success as a HC> So... again, not sure what more he can do at this point.

Yep, he better make damn sure to get his own here because it’s much harder to get someone’s from out of state and when people come pluck ours, we get left with lower tier elsewhere because they aren’t losing their best to Arkansas, in its current state.
With a program lacking relevancy for years and a brand that doesn’t mean much to kids because of all the losing. Add a coaching staff not having time to prove anything with accelerated recruiting and a bumper crop leading schools from all over to target perceived easy steals. Doesn’t bode well.
